I presume he will be looking at playing sooner rather than later, I see he is either a centre or right side so presumably stearman or bash to drop out if and when all available, as he has brought in stearman I presume it'll be bash? Be a shame if so, but onwards and upwards, bash on the bench is an asset but I would feel sorry for him

I think there will be some rotation and expect Bash to get a game in midfield from time to time as well as in defence. All about competition and options. I think we might look to play a more robust midfield at times (tough away games etc.) and might even bring Bash in for a striker to shore up midfield with a Duffy or Brooks playing just behind one up front.

My Spurs supporting colleagues - including one who's watched him quite a few times for U23's, reckon he's a real prospect, said even one of the best they've seen at his age. Describe him as a big solid unit who's quick. They reckon he's a bit tactically naive and needs game time to bring him on.
Said that he's been probably their best player in U23's but got found out against Chelsea U23's.

We ❤️ Game Time.

I repeat, coming from Tottingham surely he must have some quality? It's a sign of how we've progressed that we can now attract players from a Prem club.

Looking forward to seeing him perform, UTB!

Don't think he will be automatic starter boxer ,Wilder Doasnt take loans if we have to guarantee a start he will have to fight for a place and that's how it should be.
If he's as good as we are lead to beleave then he will earn his shirt and keep it.,time will tell but it looks an excellent signing.
Now for a striker hopefully.

So if he plays who makes way ?
Basham or Wright ?
Seems hes a little naive tactically so may benefit having Wright at the side of him

Basham, he's struggled massively and makes too many sill errors, Boro and Cardiff...

A lot of people are questioning whether this is a good signing, which is confusing for me. Where do people think the better players come from? They come from the top teams academies generally. I didn't see many complaints when Cahill was brought in and look where his career went. Admittedly there is slightly more risk in the sense of experience and lack of game time, but these signings can't be fully judged from the off, and I for one can't wait to see how he does.

Sky sports news journo has confirmed a deal is in place between the clubs now

A must say where's the ambition, signing a player than can't even make Tottenhams first team, this clubs going no where.

McCabe Out, Wilder Out.

I shouldn't worry mate. In one of the earlier posts someone wrote, "I see we're after some fucker...", hardly the language I'd acquaint with giving a new signing a chance? Our fans are a mix of the positive and the impossible to please, UTB

BLADES AGREE CARTER-VICKERS LOAN

Sheffield United have agreed a deal to sign Tottenham centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers on a season-long loan, according to Sky sources."

I would imagine it will be announced in a few hours.

Edit: or a few mins ago

One down, three to go.

He'll be available to play tomorrow too.

Looks the part this lad and if he can head a ball forward rather than upwards which is Bashams problem then get him in at the side of Jake Wright and we are getting closer to the Kilgallon Morgan type of partnership. Add Magic O'Connell to the mix and the back 3 starts to look a bit better. UTB

Chris Wilder has bolstered his defensive options with the signing of a young Premier League defender.

Tottenham Hotspur's Cameron Carter-Vickers arrives at Bramall Lane on a season-long loan and is eligible to make his debut against Derby County at the weekend.

The arrival of the 19-year-old, who has represented the USA at three different youth levels, gives Wilder additional resources at the back following the news that Richard Stearman will be out for around six to eight weeks.

Last season, Carter-Vickers made his Spurs debut in the third round of the League Cup against Gillingham at White Hart Lane.

On Carter-Vickers joining the Blades, the United manager remarked: "Cameron is young, athletic and highly-rated by Tottenham and we're delighted we've been trusted to continue his development.

"He is a central defender with a good attitude and adds competition for places in that area. I like the way Tottenham play and it's clear that Cameron has the ability to be a very good player."

In a back 3 we now have;
A ball winner who can also play out of the back in JOC,
An organiser and leader who I thing reads the game really well in Wright,
A bit of height and decent technical ability in Bash, while also putting some great last ditch tackles and blocks in.

What are we missing?
A vocal, athletic, defender with some pace to cover.
He's a black American, chances are he's going to be a rapid gobshite!

I think we are much stronger now.

*the gobshite part is purely because he's American.

I know it's building up now he's signed but it's always the players with the smallest threads on here that we end up signing.
Wilder is like ninja with some of his signings.
Or, our ITKers are shite.

Basham, he's struggled massively and makes too many sill errors, Boro and Cardiff...

I don't think we should rule Basham out based on those errors, nor should we declare Fleck or Sharp not good enough based on not being great in either of those games.
