for me too, too much like the home kit of last season that I now associate with failure.

What kind of fabric softener would that bad boy need?
There's a guy at the gym who wears a shirt like that but red /black stripes across chest. It looks Adidas, thought it was Germany at first. Thought of it as an away kit before this post. Great minds and all that.
Adidas don't put stripes on anyone's sleeves, supposed to be because of all the waste material it would produce, them being ever so green and all, same with not matching front and back of shirt at the sides. It means they use as little material for each shirt as possible to maximise profit.Just out of interest, how many more seasons does the Adidas deal last for? I've not been impressed with the home shirts, last season's away shirt was decent, but that's the only one I've liked. Particularly disappointed with this seasons kit to be honest. How long to wait for a shirt with stripes all over the shirt! I would say the Macron one of three years ago has been the best in recent seasons.

Charlton 3 (Shipperley, Flanagan 2) Blades 1 (Varadi). I was in the 6th form at boarding school in Newbury and travelled by train to watch the matchreminds me a bit of the away shirt we had when Alex Sabella was with us. You never see it mentioned or seen much.

Wore that kit in the 2-1 defeat at Stoke in Oct 1978 and 3-1 defeat at Charlton in DecemberI don't think I've ever seen that shirt! Strange.

The one in the OP is lovely but I can't see it being that. For me it's a little too similar to the home kit and we would require more of a contrast....unless there's a third kit.
We played very well that day, a Stoke fan from my school (he went on to be a linesman in the FL) admitted we were unlucky not to win. It was Brendan O'Callaghan who scored first with a header after a Colin Franks error. Peter Anderson equalized with a header. Agree that the ref had got the penalty award wrong, he adjusted Andy Keeley to have fouled a Stoke player (didn't realize it was Crooks). Don't remember the offside goal. I thought our season would get better after that display at Stoke but I was wrongThe Stoke game was on the "Midlands" version of YTV's football show on the Sunday, so it's there to be seen if you can find the clip somewhere.
We went 1-0 up, they got the dodgiest of penalties when Garth Crookes lobbed himself to the floor at a corner and we were denied a perfectly good equaliser for offside at 1-2. Referee Ken Walmsley from Blackpool was on my "hit list" for many a year after his performance that day.
Assuming it'd have white shorts and white socks, in which way would that be too similar to the home kit? This. I like it but too similar to the home kit to be an effective away kit. Can see us with something in yellow or lime green potentially.

It's majority white, not red and white stripes. It could work with white shorts and socks. But, teams sometimes change their shorts and socks when necessary whilst wearing the home shirt anyway. I can't envisage many scenarios where our home shirt with white shorts and socks would be particularly more inappropriate than this kit. As I say though, I do like it.

Initially you said it'd be too similar to the home kit.
Now it seems you are basing this only on if and when we change our home shorts and socks to white also?
Think you've got a bit muddled there.
Was it called 'Central', G2000, with Greavesy? If it was I always used to get that channel but never the Yorkshire version. The Stoke game was on the "Midlands" version of YTV's football show on the Sunday, so it's there to be seen if you can find the clip somewhere.

So you think this; Not muddled at all. The shirts are too similar in my opinion. Shorts and socks are often changed as and when required and the change in shirt wouldn't be different enough to make it worthwhile. All in my opinion of course. I think you're just looking for a rather silly argument now.

I thought it was Ian St John?Wasn't Midlands TV guy Hugh Johns?

Anyones guess with United. Whenever they can be arsed. When does the away shirt actually get launched? Anyone know?

I wouldn't say they're similar at all. If it is white shorts and socks, what's the problem?
For example, when Bradford come to the lane this season, what kit do you think they'll wear? I'm putting my money on white.

Crewe for example.
Which will they wear?
