There's a guy at the gym who wears a shirt like that but red /black stripes across chest. It looks Adidas, thought it was Germany at first. Thought of it as an away kit before this post. Great minds and all that.

Just out of interest, how many more seasons does the Adidas deal last for? I've not been impressed with the home shirts, last season's away shirt was decent, but that's the only one I've liked. Particularly disappointed with this seasons kit to be honest. How long to wait for a shirt with stripes all over the shirt! I would say the Macron one of three years ago has been the best in recent seasons.

Isn't the horrible truth then - that the cloth costs MORE than the labour. Because in using a patchwork of different pieces of fabric to save money, they mean many more yards of seams for some poor blighter in a poor country to sew.

The multi-panel construction method employed in football shirt construction goes against standard tailoring practice doesn't it? Just looking at a photograph of the new shirt, it seems to be made of at least 12 pieces of cloth sewn together + 6 adidas stripes. My (more fashionable) T- shirt seems to be made out of 5.

Doesn't it go to show what a rip off the whole thing is.......still we already knew that........

The Stoke game was on the "Midlands" version of YTV's football show on the Sunday, so it's there to be seen if you can find the clip somewhere.

We went 1-0 up, they got the dodgiest of penalties when Garth Crookes lobbed himself to the floor at a corner and we were denied a perfectly good equaliser for offside at 1-2. Referee Ken Walmsley from Blackpool was on my "hit list" for many a year after his performance that day.

The one in the OP is lovely but I can't see it being that. For me it's a little too similar to the home kit and we would require more of a contrast....unless there's a third kit.

We played very well that day, a Stoke fan from my school (he went on to be a linesman in the FL) admitted we were unlucky not to win. It was Brendan O'Callaghan who scored first with a header after a Colin Franks error. Peter Anderson equalized with a header. Agree that the ref had got the penalty award wrong, he adjusted Andy Keeley to have fouled a Stoke player (didn't realize it was Crooks). Don't remember the offside goal. I thought our season would get better after that display at Stoke but I was wrong

We should have never used them then should we! They do a decent shirt for the solid colour teams like Germany and Man U.

It could work with white shorts and socks. But, teams sometimes change their shorts and socks when necessary whilst wearing the home shirt anyway. I can't envisage many scenarios where our home shirt with white shorts and socks would be particularly more inappropriate than this kit. As I say though, I do like it.

It's majority white, not red and white stripes.

Initially you said it'd be too similar to the home kit.

Now it seems you are basing this only on if and when we change our home shorts and socks to white also?

Not muddled at all. The shirts are too similar in my opinion. Shorts and socks are often changed as and when required and the change in shirt wouldn't be different enough to make it worthwhile. All in my opinion of course. I think you're just looking for a rather silly argument now.

Was it called 'Central', G2000, with Greavesy? If it was I always used to get that channel but never the Yorkshire version.

It was Anderson that scored the disallowed equaliser as well.
Thought the same as you, we were going on to better things. All turned horribly sour, if that goal had stood who knows . . . . .
