I can't think why Gilchrist would consider signing for Utd after his experience last seasion - played out of position and then frozen out. Yes, there's a new regime but he's not going to oust Binden at RCB (unless Selles is trying to recruit the smallest side since Snow White had a kickabout with some lads she met) and he's simply not a RB.

Also, considering how much Chelsea youngsters are paid, he will be after top $$$ I'm sure.

Would be relatively pleased if Gilchrist was to return to play FB. Not a CB for me and can't play as a WB. But as a defensive RB he is good enough for what we need, as well as being interchangeable with Seriki if we need to go more attacking. I do feel that the bridge may be burned with us after his sudden ousting from the starting 11 last Jan.

Zätterström for me wouldn't be anything more than a squad/development player, but right now with need bodies in CB.

I was initially against paying Godfrey's large wages, but he'd add pace to the defense of our new high line tactics, which is clearly needed if there is any chance of it working. He also walks into our defence! Plus we've shoehorned ourselves into a position that we may not have much choice to pay his wages with the time we have left to bring in similar quality alternatives

The above potential swoop (pun intended) was discussed at board level only recently after it emerged that the clubs previous scouting pigeon 'Speckled Jim' still hasn't arrived home from the Western Front from 1917 where he was sent to scout on a potential German target for the club.

Any move for Fluffybutt may be complicated though, as Stinky Bob is shitfaced whilst a cat is also known to be eyeing him up as a potential target.

The AI recruitment seems pretty up to speed with identifying and signing development players and getting the deals done quickly, but the traditional scouting and recruitment of players is still as slow and shit as it's always been. It's like Sheffield United never learn from their mistakes. It comes across like we concentrate on one player and one deal at a time. We should be looking at Seol and a back up target at the same time so that if this falls through we're ready to go on the back up. Fingers crossed we are, but I'm not confident of this.
