Wilder to Sunderland?

"Unsurprisingly, the market has been moving and now Wilder, who worked with Donald at Oxford".

The last three words should help quell any rumours about Wilder going to Sunderland.

Chris mentioned Oxford in his weekend radio interview, saying "i went thru/i had... this at Oxford" seems like it left a bad taste in Wilders gob.

I refuse to believe that all is suddenly hunky dory at Sunderland now they've been taken over and that they're now some great opportunity in English football.

Besides the fact that all new owners are 'ambitious' and come with 'big investment' (plenty of times to no avail), don't they have a lot of average players on high-money contracts to sort out? That can't be an easy web to untangle.

If Wilder was to go up there, to me it'd be an indication of how bad things are here rather than how great things are going to be at Sunderland.

I'd said that as well, if we lose wilder its 10x worse than we all fear.

He didn't get on with Chairman at Oxford but McDonald was only a board member

Surely if they’ve met etc it’s tapping up cuz his takeover hasn’t even been completed yet. If Wilder left for league one he’d lose the respect of thousands of people including his mates

I dont think you need pay any attention to the bookies odds. I could literally go and place £25 on the 3rd person in the betting and odds would all change again and wilder would no longer be favourite, manager special markets have very little in the way of allowing risk (just in case someone is actually in the know more than the bookmakers) - only takes a few quid to automatically s huffle the prices around.

No it doesn’t.

Saved me saying it.

People seem to have missed that earlier in the week Wilder's odds were down to 8/13 and then a day later were back up at 3/2, there didn't seem to have been as much of a meltdown then

Not happy about this...

He's at risk of ruining his cult status before next season, even if he stays.
If he's got an advisor or PR guy he'd be well placed to tell him to shut his mouth.

Warnock's Portsmouth debacle would've seen him crucified in this day and age on here - why should Wilder be any different?

I've understood and supported most of those comments he's made in recent interviews but he's starting to take the piss a bit and shouldn't think he's above being criticised for it.

To be fair that could be why he's looking to jump ship.

Nevertheless it would be a very risky career move in my opinion.
To be fair he's the one driving it! I haven't heard many fans question him at all, he's basically got a free hit here until it all goes VERY tits up.

It would be a stupid career move.

The situation is at least slightly different in that we're not gunning for promotion while this is going on. But I agree generally this seems ill-advised.

I've been working on it since mid pril Fulwood. See 4 threads I've revived this past hour.

Fans letter via this forum.

.......but he knows OUR support. Me and my boys support was traipsing up and down the country to away games last season and this, in pursuit of something I haven't witnessed since Bassett really.

My opinion is that CW needs to step outside his own little box and consider reality sometimes, otherwise his cushy little world will come crashing down around him.

The further he goes up the pyramid, the harder it is to get back up once he is subjected to a knock down - which he invariably would get at West Brom/Sunderland or Southampton.

Not everybody is going to roll out the red carpet and if he had any logical sense, he should realise that he could easily replicate what Dyche has done at Burnley and MORE by staying with us and working at the problem.

The board room stuff is not good, but he has started a war of words that will only end in tears if continued.

Someone close to him needs to have a bloody good word with him as well as McCabe getting his bloody finger out

UTB

Why should we back him when he's not backing us, the fans? He's basically laying out a 'comeandgetme' plea to Stuart Donald in front of our faces.

Can't be a coincidence Wilder made his speech last week, the day before the Sunderland takeover was announced, has he been tapped up?

He says he wants it sorting quickly, the legal process means this is an impossibility.

Go figure....
