If we got mugged, it's because in the second half Wilder sent us out to do the footballing equivalent of walking down back streets of Bogota wearing a Rolex, shouting loudly and asking strangers for directions to the nearest bank!

In a really respectful way Jimmy, I disagree .... we are all hurting But look at Luton this season.... would we have been happy at the start of the season being in the Top 3 and dominating a Wembley day ... The brilliant @dingbat had us down to finish 8th (ish) its not Wilders fault their keeper pulled off a quite simply worldie save in the 2nd minute and that he got a foot to Brooks effort ... Wilder has built the foundations for next season,,, WILDER STAYS IMO (no offence made though in a time of sadness)Lets look at his signings:

Cooper - awesome signing A+
Burrows - awesome signing A+
Souttar _ the best signing on loan ever alongside Hendo and Gibbs White A+

Seriki, the awesome Peck and the potential of Arblaster .... he brought these guys through + add into the improved form of Anal and Souza ,,, Wilder has done more than ok ... not perfect, but more pluses

Choudhury - great loan B+ (or A-) Happy to sign

Campbell - Brilliant free signing A (would be a plus if he stayed fitter)

O Hare - probably my fav player - he plays like a fan would play A+ for me but probably an A- or B+ for most

Moore - awesome header today after 2 mins, best save Iv seen in a live game ever ... gutted to see the poor lay off that cost us B (could be an A next season)

Poor signings
  • Tom Canon .... Not going up may be the making of him - He could be our diamond next season
  • Rak Sikyi - OK not shite but not not awesome and given the fee paid ... mmm I'd be happy buying him for £10m though
  • Gilchrest - mmm ok but wanted more from a loan signing

We will dominate the division next season - Chris Wilder is for me
 
I will always love Wilder for what he did for us in his first stint here. Legendary! But Wilder 2.0 has been a disappointment. Today we saw more of the same rubbish we’ve seen all season - slow play, passing backwards, creating limited chances, not changing when Sunderland were getting on top, playing favourites when better options are on the bench. Plus we’ve had the silly behaviour, £450k worth of fines because of indiscipline and some duff signings.

I think it is time to move on. Good young manager with fresh ideas would be where I would go if I was the new owners.

That really does speak for itself.

Finishing the season on 90 points is a nice achievment. But when you're proving to be that inferior to the teams above you then it really puts a good season on paper into perspective.

I think it's safe to say that the Championship will be weaker next year with Leeds and Burnley gone and the likely point deduction for Leicester. But the goal should be to not depend on the teams around you to be weaker.

A new Sporting Director specifically employed to manage recruitment ins and outs and contracts closely followed by a Head of Medical Services should be part of the reset button being pressed now by new owners shortly after thanking CW and dispensing with his services. Failure to do do so will raise concerns about the new owners intent moving forward.

I'm all for longevity and retaining the manager.

The football this season has been turgid. Get 1-0 up then defend and take the win. Very professional, but boring to watch.

Same again today, other than a team who had been hopeless for 75 minutes got some belief, the momentum shifted and we lost the game.

Some of his substitutions were baffling.

Apart from the boring football, add the fact that he can't spend big money on a striker, he's bought some duds.

Time for a change. Thanks Chris, but it's time for pastures new for you I'm afraid

Serious question where we finding this young manager from the EPL pyramid? How much is it costing us this time to get rid of Wilder especially given the fact he signed a new contract last year

Follower of the Bundesliga and kept an eye on St Pauli with Alex Blessin. Kept them up in a very tough League. Exceptionally fit players, pressing game with pace. We need a progressive Manager like him. Our fitness levels are an absolute disgrace. Even before I’d sack the manager I’d sack our fitness team. And I would be ruthless with it, Hamer in no uncertain terms would be told to get fit or your out. He’s a least two stone overweight, same again, poor management from Wilder and the fitness team. But what must the players think when they see their Manager pissed and dancing ion tables making your self look a right bellend? We need professionalism bringing back into the club.

Not just EFL - could be from abroad as well. Other clubs do it. Other clubs also sack managers.
 
There's always far too much read simply into results rather than performances.

Today Sunderland got lucky, their overall performance warranted defeat but as we hadn't killed it off they were always in the game despite creating no decent chances.

Over the course of a season you can balance out those undeserved wins or defeats because overall your good performances with good players will get you the results.. In a one-off game you can't.

But... we invite our own problems when we willingly stop doing what's causing the opposition problems and decide just to "sit-in". We've seen that all season long. I feared the worst, regardless of whether there would be extra time, when Hamer was forced off. We have been reliant on our best players to produce something dramatic all season long too. Surely everyone knows that? We have not been a team that has an identifiable, nor exciting style. The first half today was a digression, it hasn't been the norm.

I'd much sooner see a Football Director who will appoint a coach who can try and get us playing in an effective, and hopefully interesting way. And with players who, if we were to go up, would have half a chance of competing at the next level, in the main.

Had we won today we would have needed at least 8 new starters, and as many more again, just to give us a faint hope of stopping up. We have a very good squad for the Championship; we have a terrible one for the PL.

As for renewing the contracts of a couple of our out of contract players - I'm speechless. And that says it all.
