Yeah it's Wilder's fault Campbell can't play 90 mins and BBD, Hamer and Anel got injured cos that's why we lost
Yeah, it's everybody else's fault that they bottled the league, then bottled the playoffs, whereas the French manager - french being renowned for their fortitude under pressure, achieves promotion his first season despite capitulating in the league months before us. Failure accepted as hard lines by dem blades. Embarrassing

Prediction on top 3 and bottom 3 now…. Bet they aren’t what you think with Birmingham City and Wrexham in the league next year along with Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton
Next seasons predictions mean absolutely nothing. It’s about the here and now.

Sat here in hospital after my bypass operation todays result has done nothing to aid my recovery plan lol. What it has is confirmed in my mind the is manager lacks tactical nous. At half time the footballing world acknowledged there was only 1 team in the game. After 75 minutes sky commentary said no Sunderland fan in the stadium can believe they were going to win this game 2-1. Add in earlier stats that teams who concede first in play off finals rarely go onto win the game. Today we have witnessed a cacophony of CW's seasons tactical failures all rolled into an abject second half perfrormance in the clubs biggest game in years. De Bries immediately saw the problem moved le Fe to a 10 and brought on runners in Isidor, Roberts and Watson to expose our weakness to being turned around. The coaching team failed again at the final hurdle and the the decisions regarding substitutions became more bizarre as the game progressed a reoccurring problem all season.

What it also confirms is that any manager who believes that players of the limited capabilities of JLT and Brewster are adequate to start a play off final does not possess the credentials that any new owners would require of a head Coach taking the Club to the next level,

Big decisions are now required from the new owners. The same golden opportunity can not be tossed away again on the back of a coaching team that fails all the tests required to overhaul the off field management of the Club. A new Sporting Director specifically employed to manage recruitment ins and outs and contracts closely followed by a Head of Medical Services should be part of the reset button being pressed now by new owners shortly after thanking CW and dispensing with his services. Failure to do do so will raise concerns about the new owners intent moving forward.
On the money imho.

Best wishes for a swift return to health.

Anel doesn't get that injury, they don't score the 2nd.
Of course we were unlucky.
"Bottled the playoffs" How?

Not that sure it’s all Wilder, Peck is overrated as of yet, great 1st season but a good Nick Montgomery, Moore and BBD couldn’t trap a bag of cement between them, Anel and Robbo aren’t up to much. We over egged our squad when in reality Sunderland’s was better, hence they took their chances.

One of our better players until then.

Should have won
Headed it on to nobody when he had the chance to bring it down, tried to bring it down when it should have been nodded on to someone running beyond him.
Almost everything bounced two yards off him when he tried to control it.

He got almost every decision 100% wrong all day, including the header in the first minute that should have been buried.

Mind you if he'd scored after 70 seconds it would have just meant our shit mentality would have kicked in even earlier

If I find out Wilder hesitated to bring on a sub for Anel rather than being prevented by officials then I'll agree he must take some blame.

The injuries killed us today for sure.

That said not getting anel subbed off WAS a mistake and it cost us

By losing the playoffs after bottling the league. It's pretty simple mate you have just accepted failure as normal

What's your excuse?, for making us look like that's again? Your pathetic narcissistic behaviour in the Banner cross and double tree, is biting us all now. Do the decent thing and resign. Big game bottler!

He needs sacked. Team selection shocking. Made subs when not required. Should never start Moore and then to kept him on was criminal. He got it totally wrong

chris should do the honourable thing tonight and resign for the sake of the club and our fans if not ive a feeling our new owners will do it for him weve played this dangerous go 1 up and sit back all season and got away with it but our luck ran out today using those tactics in a game that was there for the taking and its cost the club 200 million time for a change utb

I suspect that if another fanbase was demanding the head of their manager in these circumstances, we'd think they were a bit mental.

I m happy today I took my daughter to see wembley it was amazing , but our fans don't have the edge in any play off final and that's a fact, it's disappointing but at same time get it, we have been there that many times and been hurt. This surely reflects into players and had this negative affect every time, Sunderland fans were hungry and you could hear it, not sure what it is what's happening but surely it can't always be players and managers fault.

Big fan of Wilder and think he's done really well this season. Will always see him as a legend.

But, I think there's a question mark about how we've turned up this year under pressure. And that should really be his strength.

Might be the right time to take a new direction.
This is pretty much sums up my view too.

Wilder has given us some amazing times over the years. The man loves the club and has done his best, but our performances this season have been dire at times and, with the players at his disposal, we should have done better.

Understandably, emotions are high this evening but it’s poor show to see Blades calling him names. I don’t understand why some can’t respect what he’s done (or not), yet look for a new direction without making personal.

I agree too

I knew we’d spend 90 mins hoofing it to Moore. Wilder is so predictable this season. It worked for 45 mins but we needed to change it when Sunderland came into it second half. We didn’t. And we also constantly passed the ball backwards before we hoofed. Really poor second half from Wilder and some of the players.
A manager has tactics...

A manager doesn't..

The outcome was the same as oxford..etc..
