Outgoing? Wes Foderingham

I love how Wes is being hung out to dry, despite also easily being the busiest keeper in the league, behind the worst defence. Logic dictates that the busier you are, the greater chance you have of making a howler or two.

I've got no issues with Wes. He was crucial in getting us to the Prem, he provided stability when we desperately needed it (Olsen, Verrips, anyone?) and he's pulled off some good saves this season. The side in front of him, that's the bigger problem IMO.

no me neither i think wes is good enough for the championship and to be honest im not impressed with grbic if were not signing another keeper let those 2 battle for the jersey

If we're strapped for cash there's other priorities isn't there?

That said doesn't his deal expire anyway, so this could all be redundant.

yes it is just think wes would be good enough for the championship the problem has been wes has had no competition for the jersey and thats what we need next season if he goes i think we bring johannsen in from toytown and have him competing with grbic

I am astounded a premier league club is looking at Wes. Would have said top 10 championship was a stretch for him. Obviously won’t be first choice wherever he lands, unless it’s lower end championship obviously. Made the saves you expected of him but other than that a pretty average keeper imo. Certainly doesn’t have the feet to play at a higher level.

West Ham would be a great move for him tbf. Will certainly be paid more than he was on with us and gets to basically just go to training and the odd game. He will be back in London too, where he is from, which may be appealing for him.

Are we still trying to get them back for Tevez? 🤣

I thought we’d put that one out to grass.

HammerInPeace deserves better 😉

An Article in The Athletic picked an England squad based on Fantasy Football points and xG. Wes was the 4th keeper in the squad.

For all the derision he would be a decent number 2 or 3 for West Ham. Yet again he had a good game in Sunday and kept the score st 3 instead of 6 plus.

Wilder has been forced to eat humble pie after having to bring him back after ostrocising him for not signing a new contract. Grbic is shit and we are stuck with him whilst a much better keeper is going to leave on a free.

Incidentally, as others have also asked, how come Wes was singled out for this treatment? McBurnie wouldn't sign and he wasn't dropped.

Heard a while ago he was wanted by a prem club to be a no. 3 goalie. More money for not playing much you can't blame him

It's a cheap wage to fill the third keeper position and inflate the homegrown player count. They're not signing him to play except in an extreme emergency.

Wes is easily good enough for a mid to upper champ side (as he proved last year). But I wouldn’t blame him for taking a big payout and being a 2nd or 3rd choice at a Prem club. He might think that last year was potentially his career peak in terms of achievements on the pitch.

Always struck me as a good guy and a solid pro who really steadied us after coming in. Any keeper who is in sticks when we get promoted to the Prem has earned my eternal respect.

A lot of the "bigger" PL clubs do this with goalkeepers. Having an English GK in the squad that is never going to play helps them with their homegrown quota.

I'd happily take £30K a week to never play football again

Scott Carson, 11 trophy's and a quick scrap at the Man City celebration party on 30k a week.
