Hes not gone yet.......!
Could he stay??......

He was released. So no.
Only because they couldn't agree a contract. He could, theoretically, still play if he would agree, doesnt look like he's going to West Ham afterall.

Foderingham doesn’t want to play for us and hasn’t wanted to play for us for some time. West Ham is looking most likely at the moment but he’s holding out for other offers, providing they allow him to move his family back down south.

WF also came across as being incredibly (and a lot of the time over) confident in his own abilities. While most can see that he'd be going to West Ham as 3rd or 4th choice and on very decent money I bet, I'm sure he thinks he's in with a shout of getting a game.

I was never a huge fan during his time at Utd - he did well during the last promotion season but, as a lot suspected would be the case, he wasn't Prem level and his mistakes cost Utd points during the first part of the season.

I do think he was treated unfairly when Grbic was brought in and immediately handed the #1 shirt without having to prove himself (another mistake by CW) only to win it back when Grbic's ability / form were shown as poor. As such, I;m not surprised he chose to move on, especially with a Prem offer.

I don't want him back, just sparking debate.
We need a younger no1 and no2 keeper, keepers that will be here, hopefully, a good few seasons.
If were rebuilding, we need to make a really positive start, even if we're gunna be 3 laps down on the rest!

Why the fuck are people wanting him back ?he was an average professional goalkeeper good shot stopper ratio but the rest of his game was league 1 lower championship
In the Championship in particular its more about the defence in front of you. He is a good shot stopper as you say but if he only has to stop 2 or 3 chances a game, we would have had a huge chance of doing well. In the promotion season of 22/23 he 18 clean sheets in 44 games, which goes along way to the points target, worst case that's 18 points on the table.

I don't understand the negativity around him, he was a free transfer, in a current area where the only signed on keeper is Grbic who has been linked with going too, and for some bizarre reason we are trying to sign down and extend Adam Davies who must be bordering on the most unused player of all time. As soon as Wes knew Wilder publicly didn't want him as number 1, he definitely had plenty of reasons for going which I don't blame him for. I am not saying he is the best keeper we have ever had or he was the all round keeper as he did have his faults but beggars can't be choosers and I think give it 2 or 3 seasons and we might regret not having a number 1 that has experience. At the moment its between Grbic or Davies or a Freebie/loan option...... Answers on a postcard!

I’d have signed up up on a new contract, I think he’s much better than Ramsdale.. and I’m not even joking. We’re gonna have to pay a fortune in a new keeper and it would have been so much easier and cheaper to have Wes back in as No1

😲 🔫

I’ll put it out there that I also thought Wes was decent. He wasn’t quite good enough for Prem but for the championship i think he’s good.

Statistically there are worse performers than him last season. He only concede 3.5 more goals than he is expected to have done. And that was from the most amount of shots against in the league. He had a better ratio than Trafford, Turner, Johnstone, Steele, Perrovic, Flekken, Sels, and of course Grbic.

Like another poster has said he won’t be cheap to replace. He wasn’t perfect but to replace to a similar standard will cost £££

He didn’t want to be here though.
