We'll fucking lose won't we.

It's a game of football so 3 results are possible.

I am confident we will come out firing, as Wilder will not tolerate less in this fixture. But all it takes is a mistake at the back, or one good passage of play by them, or a bit of luck or a shit refereeing decision going their way, and we could find ourselves behind.

All things being equal though, we should have far too much. We have strengthened since we last hammered them, and they are even weaker.
owls have scored 19 goals in 32 games
so not far off 1 in every games, and only scored 1 in last 9 and that a spilled ball

Why is Coventry more important? If we beat them, we only get 3 points, same as when we beat the pigs.
I didn't mean Coventry in its self was a more important game I meant it's more important to consider the bigger picture amd keep an eye on the next fixture instead of risking it all on not just beating them but humiliating them. Despite the fans on here Wilder will have his eye on a play off spot whilever it's mathematically possible, he has to.

But his heart could so easily overrule his head. Again, despite what some say on here I refuse to believe we all wouldn't relish in seeing Wilder and the squad putting more than 5 past them but if he loses a couple of players for Coventry be it via injury or this new found love of red cards it would be a bitter sweet win.

If he's eyeing up a playoff spot, he will know that our goal difference is currently not good enough and that Sunday is the ideal opportunity to set that right.

I can feel it in my bones.
It's like when you finally get to knob your fantasy bird, then her sister phones and says she's broken down and needs her help so she fucks off just as things were getting juicy.
Pitsmoor mark my words. 😕
We have always had the unenviable ability to snatch a defeat from jaws of victory.

The only thing that might stop us beating them is if we have a man sent off.

They will try their best to make this happen because that’s who they are

Wilder has to motivate them to be very competitive but at the same time he has to warn them about this possibility and ensure that we remain professional and not have any moments of madness

The Coventry game on Wednesday puts a spanner in the works.

Managing limited resources - especially midfield with injuries and suspensions - across the two games, and considering the relative strengths of the opposition means it's reasonable to go with a weaker team on Sunday and a stronger team on Wednesday.

You'd hope even with a weaker team we'd have enough to win, but it's not going to be a walkover.

...Not to mention QPR on Saturday.

Just go for our strongest 11 vs Pigs and hopefully if we're comfortable then use all 5 subs to rest players. Also Monday and Tuesday just rest rest rest.

They couldn't score in a brothel but they never seem to get hammered every week either.

They're a bit like we were in the second Wilder Prem season where we'd huff and puff and do a lot of running around but as soon as we conceded, heads would go down knowing that short of a massive defensive fuck up, there would be almost no chance we'd score. 2-0 to the opposition who have barely got out of 3rd gear.

I'd place more focus on this than on Coventry. 3 points are 3 points and this is an easier chance to get them. Ideally we'd be 3 up on the hour mark then start bringing a few off.

I'd take a loss to Cov if it meant relegating the pigs and beating QPR who we need to be taking points off.

They certainly will. We were close to full strength
Full strength? There were 8 starters that are not in our first choice 11 along with a very unfit Arblaster.

Our subs came on too late in the 2nd half when we were 3-1 down and the damage had already been done.

Hardly close to a full strength side at all.

Could be the hardest game of the season, they will not want us to be the team to relegate them. If they are already confirmed as relegated, then there is no pressure on them and they will want to put on a good show for their fans. As long as we don't take it as already won we should get the right result, a 4-0 or 5-0 would be the cherry on the cake.

I don't think they'll play dirty as it's a young inexperienced team

Don't get sucked into their nonsense.

Their starting XI v Millwall on Saturday was 24.9 avg.

United's at Portsmouth was 25.3

United have the 5th YOUNGEST squad in the league (25.2) with 34 different players being used.
Pigs are 9th youngest (25.6), using 37 different players.

My fear is they sit in a low block refusing to come out and we start the tippy tappy sideways bollox but should still be 2-0 minimum

Aye, we only have to look back a few weeks to the Charlton game to see how a seemingly winnable game can turn.

I’ve seen us batter them but come away with a draw or a defeat more times than I care to remember.

They may be crap but anything is possible in football. Look at Macclesfield beating Palace the other week. This is the effectively the last competitive game of the season for their players…..get something positive out of this game (a defeat of less than 3 goals or better) and they can happily down tools without any grief from their fans…in fact they will probably get a statue. They have nothing to lose and need to be wary of that.

“Avenging Boxing Day” and all that is nonsense. Just get the job done.
nope - i want and expect 4/5/6 nil

Fair enough. It felt like a strong line up for a cup game at the time due to injuries etc

I can see us conceding one. An ugly, scruffy deflection that we'd all argue last season's Cooper would save blindfolded with his nob end but this season would flail at and miss. I can also see them defending like their lives depended on it and us struggling to just break through the sheer numbers. I consequently can't see it being a massively high score. If either or both these things came to pass, I imagine they would declare it a massive victory.
