In the first half as well, pulled off a couple really good saves and keeping it at 0-0 was huge

She didn’t put a foot wrong, claimed every ball, some absolutely class saves, was one of the best keeping performances I’ve seen
I always take a particular interest in goalkeeping, Jnr playing in that position. And have watched quite a bit of womens football. The quality of the keeping has lagged behind, but having watched last nights performance I’m delighted at the progress. The Swedish keeper didn’t have the best night, but that seemed more like “not her night” rather than any lack of quality. What a fantastic occasion for the team, the sport, the ground and the city (and goalkeeping).

Anyone interested. Limited tickets for the final on sale at 10am today. If you’re a England member you should have now got an email link.

Sheffield and SUFC have played a blinder this tournament. Let's not forget we also have the RLWC coming here soon and an England U21 International. We need to build on this and make it abundantly clear that we have the venue, the location (both city centre and country centre), the apetite and the will to be a viable alternative to London for myriad events.

I'm talking National League play off finals, prestigious pre season and International friendlies, UEFA Super Cup finals (Cardiff City and Windsor Park having hosted this recently) etc etc. We need to make sure we're on the radar for full England internationals and part of the conversation for future WC/Euros (albeit that will require a 10k increase in capacity.

bang on

season ticket holder and that’s one of the best experiences I’ve had at the lane

West Ham & Man Utd at home, the L1 promotion season, Ipswich at home (champ promotion)

and then tonight is right up there with those
Also they are representing England, good luck to the team, love 'em all.

Someone’s got a different agenda here, obvs a London or Manchester hack….
Basically it should have all been at Wembley with a token game at Old Trafford. A lot of people don't give a fuck about the men's team because of that attitude. We barely see them at any other grounds around the country but are expected to feel a great connection. You can already see the way they'll quickly make the women's team feel distant and not accessible to most of the country now they're popular and on the brink of being successful. Can't help themselves.

backing this again cos she was flawless

always plenty of negative things to say about keepers in the womens game, but Earps was ducking class
saved a certain goal for 2-1, & she pivotal as that we couldve gone behind after 20seconds & if Sweden had taken their chances in the 1st 25 mins. wouldve been a very different game. but like Netherlands games they couldnt

as outstanding that 2nd half from lionesses. was it slightly bittersweet as i really grew to love the swedes. their fans have been brilliant in the city. hoped they go far

Lets hope our City leaders get their shit together for years we've undermarketed one of most important bits of History -Football - lets start seeing welcome to Sheffield the home of football all over the city in the station in the cultural quarter bus stations lets start seeing plaques around the city with bits if our football history on them should have been doing this 30/40 years ago

Even if they upped our capacity to 40-45k for future tournaments it'll only be like in Australia the grounds are to big for every single team but at least it'll be ready If we ever sustain prem status

Oh I see, now that there’s a bandwagon to be jumping on, every single game must be at Wembley or Old Trafford.
A reporter in the Telegraph this morning said it should not have been played at the Lane because it was not big enough . Well it holds 32,000 and it attracted 28,000 so why was it not big enough? Or is it just sour grapes? Every club was invited to offer their ground to host the games but the big clubs turned it down now after the success of the games in Sheffield and other venues they want some of it . Well well well who would have thought it? money money money the greedy gits now want it. True if it was not England playing the interest might not have been as big but without a crystal ball who was to know it would be England playing in the semis . Well they missed out my heart bleeds for them I don't think.
Well done lasses really enjoyed watching you and well done to the Lane they did a great job to . Also how refreshing there were no actors on show like Grealish falling over as if they had been shot ,it was just sheer entertainment with 22 players giving their all for the love of the game just like Football used to be before mega money and Sky came along in the mens game. No doubt Sky will soon put that right and spoil it for ordinary fans who might not be able to afford Sky so being unable to see their hero's .So enjoy it while you can before money spoils it.

Knowing our city leaders they would build a new 50,000 seat stadium then think we best donate it to the pigs otherwise it will be unused 364 days of the year similar to how they scrambled around trying to find a use for the Don Valley athletics track.
