Think he's what we've been missing in midfield. Need one of them to have some fight in them and put themselves about defensively
Agree....I was impressed how he always runs into spaces to show for the ball, helps our midfield tick over better.
Good workmate but good control and composure on the ball too, nothing too fancy tending to play it simple.
He'll be a real asset this season.

Also liked McAtee attitude when he came on....thought he showed some really nice touches.
His first touch was that great cross for Basham's header and you could see his confidence increasing through out the game.

No excuse to play Berge deep away from home now.

Doyles no sherker, can afford Berge to play higher.
Agreed, Berge was once again less effective in that deeper role tonight, not knocking him like. Maybe a case of Hecky easing Doyle into that defensive position before commiting to push sander further forward?

Really enjoyed him tonight. Norwood was great too. They compliment each other. I like the pair of them a lot.

Doyle was very accomplished both in and out of possession.
Teams have started man marking Norwood when he takes the ball off the centre backs. Hendrick was following him all night for this purpose. Sander clearly had instructions to drop deep and provide a plan B when this happened.

Absolute cracking game. Fitted in like he'd always been here, picking up balls and playing them to where he knows we're going to be.
Really helped us push and the game flow beautifully.

he’s an all rounder, tenacious, good in the tackle, great passer, energy, running, I’d argue maybe his shooting isn’t there, but he’s a great box to box midfielder and I think he’s a Sheffield United type of player. Think he’s found his home, would love to make it a permanent

Sign him permanently in January

The club understood how Anel would be a worthwhile investment, they should with Doyle too

It would also open up another loan slot

It’s a tough call. I can only see him getting better and better. The trouble is, if he does too well, Pep will want him back.

Very much a future first teamer in the PL, probably for Man City 🙃

As much as Pep might want him back, is he, McAtee (and the scores of other youth players they've got either on loan or playing u21) going to be able to displace the likes of De Bruyne, Gundogan, Rodri, Phillips, Foden, Grealish, Bernardo Silva, Mahrez and the emergence of players like Palmer out of that side.

I caught some of the Reading v Stoke game yesterday and they were talking about Lewis Baker who is 27, had been at Chelsea since he was 8 years old and never made an appearance in the Premier League for them.

Is that the boat these guys want to be in or to cut their losses a bit earlier and still carve out a very respectable career without these clubs simply signing who they want over the heads of youngsters who could do the job if they had the chance, who are instead used as bargaining chips and profit making (see Rhian Brewster).

I think Pep just wants his subs to be as scary as ours are to the opposition. :)
