Yep, fair enough.
Can't argue with that logic.
I tend to go for who has a higher ceiling. I get excited thinking we could have the next Brookes, Ndiaye, DCL on our hands, but buying potential is far too risky for a club in our position. We've been let down by "Premiership experience" in the past and I like a player with a hunger, but steady and proven probably is the way to go in this window.
Perfect world mate? We get the proven player and Cannon

...if only I'd been wrong about MSP 😂

I think it depends on what we have to spend - I've said before, a bit of cash could potentially prise Morris, Adebayo or Osmejic away from their clubs, and Morris and Adebayo have proven form.

If you're wanting to take a risk, there's Forss at Boro or Riis Jakobson we were linked with today

If we had Leeds money, I'd be all for Cannon - but I think we need to be canny with our spending and he isn't an outlay we can justify
So you do want Cannon?????

I didn't want Joël Piroe at first, I'd snap someone's hand of for a player like that now.
Wilders said One should be out on loan. Maybe if we could find him and Marsh a move, ship Brewster out as well, we could push the boat out to a proven striker and a younger (bit of a gamble) one.
The problem is, I think we'd have to buy Cannon to get him from his loan, and not many clubs want to loan out a 25-27 yr old.

I don't rate him, I don't think he's as good as people on here seem to think, and I don't see anything special 9 times out of 10 when I watch Stoke - but I also know I trust Wilder and Des, so if they want him there must be a reason, hence why id only have him if its a financially easy/viable option

So you don't want him because he's shit, but you do want him because you trust Wilder and Des?

I don't want him at all, I just don't question their judgement if they get him

Not sure what you're not getting from what I'm repeatedly saying to be honest 😂

While it's better than Moore, he'll be brought in as our goalscorer but doesn't score enough.

We should be creating far more chances than we do - Hamer, O'hare and Rak Sakyi should be consistently putting it on a plate for our striker, but our system revolves around "high percentage chances" and overplaying in defence and midfield. This allows every opposition player to get back and get organised which makes it a lot more difficult and reduces the high percentage chances. I can't see someone like Cannon flourishing in this system, and certainly not in the premier league if we get there.

This is probably the most succinct way to make the argument I've spent pages and pages trying to

The bottom part may be correct, but the record is a pretty decent return for a striker at Stoke, they are fucking wank

Appreciate what you're saying but he's a very good finisher.
A better insight would be to see how he's doing against his XG. I doubt Stoke are laying on much for him.

(having said that - I'm not sure his style would suit ours either... but you'd still expect more to drop his way)

I struggle to believe XG, considering it said we had a ridiculously low one when we beat Hull 2-0

but surely nerdy cannon would get even more goals in our set up than at stoke the goal he scored against stoke was a very good one i still reckon he would do well at the lane

As was previously stated, you think he is shit but you do want him because you trust Wilder and Des. Sounds to me like you are afraid of being proven wrong and so covering all bases

If I'm wrong about him, I'll happily hold my hands up

I do not want him, I don't rate him, I wouldn't agree with signing him but if Wilder/Des want him it's less of an issue for me

In a awful Stoke side…

Now if we were talking about in a player on the top 6 with those numbers I’d agree with the points been made.

I think this idea of £7 million is because that's what Leicester payed for him and would presumably want their money back.

Wouldn’t we all, but I can see anyone buying Brewster for what we paid. Leicester bought him and seemingly aren’t looking to use him, same goes for Southampton and BBD. In those circumstances you have to same some hit to minimise your losses.

Bloke who summarises on Sky (‘replaced’ ?!? Stelling) just said “some talk that Cannon will be recalled from Stoke with Sheffield United said to be interested”

He's looked Ok to me shoots on sight with little to no service
Been more of a threat than we were v Burnley
