And when sargeant is back, does that mean barnes won’t get any minutes?
I would assume so, someone earlier pointed out that Barnes has played 7 games and pretty sure Sargent has been missing for longer than that.

I can't imagine Barnes will play much when they do get Sargent back.

I don’t mind bringing him in if we have the dough as that Warnock style 7th striker like Allison for example. As long as we get BBD and cannon(can’t think of anyone else available)

What number of goals will Cannon have to score for Shit Stoke this season to not be considered shit? 25? Because he's easily on course for more than 15. Which nobody in our squad will be near
It's not a shit number of goals, but it's not consistent

It's 9 so far, but 4 in one game brings the consistency down, and with some being penalties that's then less of an impact too

I'm unsure what you want me to tell you? Are you wanting me to find you alternative strike options, because I did that earlier.

I'm still waiting for you to explain to me why Cannon is worth the money

Sorry missed your choices or are you still on barnes?

Cannon because he’s young likes a shot, see Sunderland. Has the balls to take the penalties for a struggling side and has good movement. I think if we do have money 5m wokld be top end of what we spend on one player so that is cannon really.

Barnes is the very bottom of the barrel - my suggestions were Morris or Adebayo from Luton, Forss from Boro or Osmajic from Preston. That's without considering order loan options

Brewster is young, likes a shot (especially pointless ones like we saw against WBA), so that definitely shouldn't be a contributing factor.

With regards to pens, I think it's because he's probably their best striker of the ball aside from Koumas

I don't want Barnes, but my argument is that if we're getting a striker that isn't good enough to start and is coming off the bench, go with a cheaper option.

Cannon is not worth the money and has done nothing to prove that he is
So go with the striker that doesn't score goals because he is cheaper?

Would you care to share how many goals Morris, Adebayo, Forss and Osmajic have scored this season?
I've also highlighted the fact that they have a proven track record of consistency. Cannon doesn't

That a no then?
Morris is 7 goals and an assist, Adebayo is 5, Forss has only played 4 times this season while Osmejic is 4 in 16 due to his suspension

Have to remember as well that Morris and Adebayo have previous form and consistency, and Forss/Osmejic are decidedly cheaper than Cannon.

Enlighten me why Cannon is better than these options?

I answered your question
I was just trying to clarify whether you mean he's fitter than Barnes or our current strikers but tbh it's probably both 😂

However, he's got nowhere near the track record of Moore or Campbell so I know who I'd prefer

You asked what Cannon offers that Barnes doesn't.
I answered.

I only want BBD anyway.

Rest are mediocre.

Ah but that was back when Stoke looked somewhat like a football team, and less like the car crash they've become
Aye
Not sure when Stoke ‘officially’ crashed the car & became shite but he’s netted 6 in his last 13 appearances.
I’m not (necessarily) advocating we sign him - merely doing the counting 😉

Really like the Morris and Adebayo options!

Adebayo with pace and power.

Morris reminds me of McBurnie but probably a shade better. I could see Morris being a great fit with Wilder and fans.

I think Morris is the longer shot, remember him having issues with our fans on Boxing day, but given Lutons current predicament they may want resources stabilise so always a possibility

Personally think players of cannons ability are exactly what we don’t want. This is filling the squad up with players with no-resale and limited ability. Not a great recipe.

Bloody hell! Every thread I read about potential striker signings someone is saying they’re no good.

So that’s Barnes, McBurnie and Cannon that ain’t good enough. Is there anyone out there that’s good enough for us?

There's better strikers out there but they play in foreign markets. Depends on Wilder I guess

Erm because he scores more goals?

Erm because he scores more goals?
What, consistently? Or infrequently this season

I thought we were past signing players for larger fees because they'd had a decent season/half a season after that bit us on the arse with Brewster, but if you want to stick with it go ahead

Adebayo would be the perfect signing for this team and he's proven he can score in the Prem, can see Luton wanting to sell too seeing as they're deep in the shit with a new stadium to pay off

Stadium is paid off, that's why they were cheap in the prem. Used prem money to fund it
