Things aren't very good at the moment, but...

The only ones defending the Prince and the board are clearly those who are bought and paid for and those that are hangers on and puppets and those that just clap like seals.

It is the most embarrassing sh*t show I have known in many a year it is made all the worse that we are in the Premier league and we are being made to look like Amateurs.

How people can sit back and defend this I will never know we are a badly run circus that has done untold damage to the morale to the club and the players it is toxic and that has been caused. By the Prince and board they need to go and go ASAP.
Always tried to keep a level head on the reality of supporting this club, but the way we have gone about our business this pre-season has been unacceptable. I don't blame Heckingbottom because he can only work with what he's got, I also take the approach that you can sign a Brewster for £25m and not get the value for the investment. But it's still been very underwhelming when you consider we're back in the big time and we don't even look to be making a real effort at staying there.

Lose two key loan players in McAtee and Doyle and fail to replace both (so far), sign a bunch of unknowns for next to nothing, and then sell your crown jewels in N'Diaye, Berge, and hopefully not Anel next. Potentially starting the season with an attack consisting of an unknown quantity in Traore and a youngster in Osula whose never even scored for the first team. Just totally unacceptable, Blades fans deserve better. But we get next to nothing because it's just "the Blades way" and that makes it alright. Always.

Who's doing more damage to the club?

Me or PA?
PA is a genuine guy who enjoys football and the club, yes he doesn’t have the vast amounts of money that other owners do but he’s made an excellent fist of things and has presided over our most successful period in 30 years. So I’ll take PA over the tripe you spout, all fur coat and no knickers same with Andy67, just here to stir shit up. Still think you’re a pig.

Oh dear! no words…

Good post that mate. I have been one of those saying "wait until our transfer business is done before making a judgement" and that still stands to a large extent.
I will also say on record that I am happy with the players that we have actually signed. The obvious problem is that we haven't signed nearly enough so far and our lack of urgency to replace Ndiaye (who the board must have known was leaving well over a week ago now) is simply not good enough. Now we will probably have a similar situation with Berge, where any replacement is not going to be ready for a couple of weeks after him leaving.

Best case, we get Souza in for a medical tomorrow (rumoured) and maybe O'Brien and one other in on Wednesday. It will probably take us another 3-4 days to confirm the signings after that, but even if we do pull off a miracle and get them over the line in time to play on Saturday, they will have had no time to train properly with the group and learn our system of play. I would still feel better just to get them in the building anyway and ideally on the bench, but it's looking like a midfield trio of Norwood, Slimane and Osborn on Saturday, with whoever is fit up front.

I've tried to think the same throughout this entire pre-season. I don't think anyone expected us to finish 9th in Wilder's first season - the signings we made were largely in-form Championship players who were at a decent age who we hoped could make the grade. Robinson and Freeman didn't do. But McBurnie and Mousset whilst they didn't set the league alight in terms of goal returns, did both finish joint top-scorer in a team that had a great defensive record. So the combined £30m investment in those two did pay off.

I accept Heckingbottom has less money to play with than Wilder had. Honestly, when you think back to what he's achieved (not just last season) but in his first season, how he got a patched up team to the play-offs and within a penalty kick of Wembley, battling with the worst injury crisis I can ever remember, with two number 10s up front in N'Diaye and Gibbs-White, playing half the season with a bench full of youngsters. To then get us promoted last season on top of that, he's done a terrific job in my eyes.

Saturday looks a write off and a point would be a good result with what we currently have available. As other posters have said, 3/4 could come in but there's time needed for them to gel. Whilst whilst the season will not be decided in these first two games, to go into them in this position, scrambling around for players and losing key first-teamers, something is just not right here right now. I hope our business in the coming days / weeks makes up for what we have lost since getting promoted.

Proper preparation prevents piss poor performance. Shame our Board don’t understand this.

Cryptic, unverified threads like this need to be closed as it's purely all about the attention. At least when Rocket Man Rifleman and T-Blade post, while not disclosing everything, they at least provide useful info and answer questions where they can.
Threads like this are absolutely pointless and add nothing to the discussion particularly when the fire is already lit and everyone is pissed off. It just adds more fuel to the fire and no one gets anything out of it (apart from BalticBlade of course who gets off on lots of nice little alerts when people quote him asking him to elaborate but refuses to)

Only trying to manage expectations.

Well what is it? Surely its easy for you to say?
He wont say.

Whether he knows something or not, he must be a very sad individual with very little in life. To come onto an online forum as often as he does to basically post "I know something you don't" well wow, how pathetic is that?

About as pathetic as you taken in and letting it upset you

If he won’t sign a new contract , which demonstrates a lack of loyalty , he needs selling - we need to send out a message that we will not tolerate players who refuse to sign a new contract once they reach the “last 12 months” milestone.
I would have made an exception to this for an Ndiaye , who could single handedly affect our season - I would have forced him to stay.
But no other player is near the level of Ndiaye so in my book they all sign a new contract or get sold at the 12 month milestone when we can recoup something and replace them with a 4 year signing
Agree, pretty much.
Not sure what more the club could have done to keep Ndiaye.
Sure they could have refused to sell him to Marseilles, not sure that would have been in the best interests of the club or the player.

I asked Baltic a question a long time ago (percentages) to test how itk he was and I was slaughtered. When he didn’t respond I thought his itk might not amount to much detail. I don’t disrespect him as a poster he makes some pertinent contributions.

Again, what are you more angry about? This thread or the sitatution the club is in/how the club is being run?
What’s that got to do with anything? You’ve put a thread on here hinting that you know something else that’s going on and you’ve not said what it is.

Why say anything at all if you’re not going to just say what you’ve been told.

Mine or anyone else’s opinion of how the club is irrelevant to this thread.

Maybe if the thread was ‘What’s your opinion on how the club is run?’ then you can have a debate about that subject

Well said.
It seems without untold wealth no owner these days would be able to give so many of our fans what they want.
Doubtful that is going to happen anytime soon, oh dear.
So easy to attack the Prince and it is always so easy to be negative - as is so clear from so many posts on here, ad nauseum.
Let’s be negative and highlight all our short comings and how much worse it is going to get.
So easy.
A shame no one ever clearly states, unequivocally, what are the next bad things that are going to happen. They simply say nothing specific and allude to things getting worse and worse presumably gleefully rubbing their hands as we can’t compete because we don’t have the money.
Clearly we do not have the necessary funds to compete in this crazy world of premiership football.
Don’t quite understand why so many on here seem so self-satisfied with the situation we face.
Obviously, it has got nothing to do with our lack of money it has to be the fault of the Prince and no one else’s - then as they say that is the Sheffield United way.

Agreed.
The next stage of self-flagellation will look like this. We will begin to sign high quality midfield replacements. People will ignore that, saying ah, but we need four more, and continue to flounce. My wife is half way through a jigsaw - the picture looks rubbish at the moment, it has great holes in it. Shall I smash it up and throw it all over the floor?
Heckingbottom and his team have done a bloody good job in recent seasons, often under extremely difficult circumstances. I have trust and confidence in them to deal with this current predicament.
Ah, so are you saying we will stay up then, I hear you say? None of us know, because the management team haven’t yet had the time to put their plan in place.
I’m as alarmed and concerned as many on here about our current predicament, but dummy spitting and pointing fingers of blame help nobody. Neither does actively generating gloom and despondency. Finish the jigsaw first, and then see what it looks like ( or indeed, see if any pieces are missing 😁)

Reminds me of when I first became a parent, people I have seen around for years but had never noticed me suddenly decided to come up and talk to me as I was going down the street with the old pram
’ how old is she..?’ …. would be quickly followed with, you wait until she is two years old, and you wait until she’s four, you wait until she’s a teenager… and so on, and so on
Well what happens then I would ask? - I would never get a proper answer, just sharp intake of breath And ‘ you wait and see’….
it used to proper annoy me and I would usually end up saying something like, ‘ I take it you didn’t enjoy being a parent then, well, I’ll be taking it day by day and not missing all the good bits if it’s all the same to you’ …. Oh and you can go back to ignoring me by the way.
