bottom line is they are mardy twats cos they lost...
Yep I've had it with em. I didn't realise they'd attacked our coaches as well.

Let's take it further and hopefully they'll have to play behind closed doors for a few games or maybe get points deducted.

They ought to have more to moan about if the FA fine them for allowing a pitch invasion by an obvious shortage of stewards and Police to curtail such behaviour. It was well publicised in advance of the game that there were going to to be disruptive protests, why weren't Coventry City FC adequately prepared?

Will the current owners have to pay such fines or will they "do a Chesterfield" and leave with their money in advance. Wouldn't that be upsetting?

They broke the law, trespassed, assaulted a fan and tried to get a game abandoned that thousands had paid good money to travel to and watch

We sang some piss taking non aggressive chants .

If anything we should be pissed off with them

i was wondering for a moment there whether i was in some sort of parallel universe where taking the piss was worse than those offences which you mentioned.

It seems that Craig Brown's (cov fans since 1958) thinks that as long as you do things in the name of a protest then you can pretty much get away with murder (or assault), especially if the aggressor was singing nasty piss taking songs.

dear oh dear

Wonder if they held a crappy tennis ball protest (directed at the opposing team) when SISU took over in the first place?

[*at which time they were £38m in debt & minutes away from administration and a 10-point deduction]
of course not... they were stupid enough to clap along like begging seals

Fucking scum paper, fucking scum letter. Get off your high horses Cov, your actions last night have been documented for all to see. Our fans chant, and suddenly we are ranked as the Ian Huntley's of the football world.

These cunts run on the pitch, throw stuff at our players and attempt to vilify us for having a singsong.

Exactly. Can't exactly remember a history of protests from them about their previous owners either, the ones who got them mired in debt & facing admin in the first place.

Not that I've got any truck with the likes of SISU - they're a curse on football. But they were no less a curse on football when they took over at Coventry in the first place - when, presumably, they were welcomed with open arms.

'What they also heard was the appalling and unnecessary chanting of pro-SISU slogans by a vociferous section of the travelling Blades fans, which could have led to violence on the terraces.'

Well if your fans chose to respond to chanting with violence then yes, I suppose it could have.
and that actually happened

Coventry quite simply would not exist without SISU

Do they write letters to every local rag when a team turns up and chants something they don't like.

It was football BANTER and tame compared to the types of stuff I've heard from Leeds and Wendy fans at the Lane.

I think they need to grow up and get a thicker skin. If you want the opposition fans on yourside then at least be ameniable hosts to start with.

Exactly. Getting precious about a bit of chanting at a football match? For crying out loud, why the hell is this being blown into a story? It's absolutely pathetic. So many people and/or groups seemingly can't wait to find and take offence at the slightest thing these days. Such delicate flowers.

As for the pig fanzine that masquerades as a local paper, I think it's all already been said about that rag.

ooh I cant wait for my monthly phone call from The stirs advertising dept. I will give them half an hour of my time ,letting them design the ad for a quarter page ad in the business section ,before telling them to shove their smelly pork stinking rag up their pre redundant arseholes.

Open letter from Coventry City fan to Sheffield United supporters who 'mocked' their plight

Fans revolt at Coventry
Friday 16 December 2016

Congratulations on Thursday's win - you just shaded it - and good luck for the rest of the season.

By the on and off-field protests in front of the TV cameras, the football world saw the frustrations of the Coventry fans in our campaign to rid the club of owners SISU, who annually sell our best players and are apparently unwilling to invest in the team.

What they also heard was the appalling and unnecessary chanting of pro-SISU slogans by a vociferous section of the travelling Blades fans, which could have led to violence on the terraces.

Our clubs are similar in many ways, both regarded as 'sleeping giants'.

Over the past 50 seasons the average United gate is 18,600 to City's 18,200, though the Blades have spent only 11 of those 50 seasons in the top flight compared to the Sky Blues' 34.

Don't mock our plight.

Be grateful your present owners are currently prepared to invest in your club and beware any future takeovers, with new owners promising the earth and delivering little or nothing.

Should you ever find yourselves in our perilous position, despite your fans' actions on Thursday, we will offer you support, for we've been there, done it and are wearing the uncomfortable t-shirt.

Craig Brown

Cov City fan since 1958

Yep.

Maybe, as a means of building bridges between the two clubs, we ought to show our gratitude for Coventry's continuing existence as a football club?

We could, say, hold a SISU appreciation day when we play them on 1st April?

;)

I had my own business for a short while. Always found the star quite expensive for business ads.

We've broad shoulders. Fuck em all. Sure 'Cov' will be warmly welcomed in April if the what remains of that MK Dons v2 of a corpse of a club are still hanging on.

I only put a job ad in about 10 years ago ,that cost me an arm and a leg. I was always polite until Ched ,which they still have made no apology for (nor has tubby fullofshit on Radio pig) since they have just received abuse.

Sadly I think the Coventry fans are going to see what the term "Going too far" actually means in the return fixture

As for the star
It just goes to prove that if there was ever a set of fans that have an excuse to demonstrate it's ours

My other half was canvassed in the city by Sheffield Star and she has made a six week subscription

It gets delivered in the morning and still doesn't even have the previous days news in it
Most days it doesn't even arrive

When it does arrive I bin it and tell her it wasn't delivered
She will cancel the subscription very soon I think

If there's one local company I'd like to see go to the wall it's this one

Fuck 'em.
Fuck The Star
Fuck Coventry City
Fuck Jimmy Hill
Fuck West Ham
Fuck Trevor Brooking
Fuck Peter Scudamore
Fuck Carlos Tevez
Fuck Wednesday
Fuck 'em, just fuck 'em all.
And that, my friends, is fucking swearing

Nah Billy, this is swearing!

Given that newspapers are struggling to adjust to so-called new media, no doubt The Star will continue to shrink it's workforce until it exists only as an online entity, so.....
...the fucking fucker is fucking fucked. Twas ever a truer comment of a publication's reason for being written. It barely deserves the title 'newspaper' as it scratches the surface where news-gathering is concerned. Rather than ask for a response from the admin of this forum (or any other SUFC supporter site), this local rag went ahead and published this letter without redress from a viable and recognised SUFC fan's forum. An appalling example of shoddy journalism from a publication that is meant to represent the views of supporters from either Sheffield club.....the only consolation is that in a day or two this will have all the significance of yesterday's chip paper.

..........and by the way - the STAR advertising people now use an 0113 (Leeds) number to drum up advertising - another reason for them to fuck right off

UTB

Surprise surprise. The Pig on Football Heaven thinks we should we should be more understanding and sifts out a load of Piggy supporting texts slating us to back him.
