Is everything ok right now? No but the problems that are there are all easily fixed, some easier than others.
1a) The tactics, the players have spent all summer (with the exception of Soumare) playing this new system and tactics, doesn't matter what level of opposition it was against, they shouldn't have forgotten how to play this system.
1b) Selles said that he would tweak the system today, which he did and it didn't work out the way he hoped, which might explain the difference between Bristol City and today's game.
2a) While there have been poor performances throughout the team, it all stems from the defence.
2b) Defence play poor, your keeper has to work harder, then your midfield have to focus more on protecting the defence, which usually means they take less risks and subsequently, the service/chances to the forward players starts to dry up, hence why Cannon and Campbell got little to no service today and against Birmingham.
3a) the lack of signings, yes some might see it as the main issue (it might be) but it's probably the easiest one to rectify and in turn, it should solve the other issues we have in the squad.
3b) it shouldn't have taken Selles to come out and publicly demand for them to do more, but it is what it is, and since then, strong leaks with CB's, a RB and another CDM (Iroegbunam) have come out, so we know they're trying to get the players.
3c) get Selles in the players he wants, ship out those who don't want to be here, which should allow him to use the system/tactics he wants.
New signings come in and improve the team, performances improve. Performances improve and we start picking up points/results.
We start picking up results/points, we start climbing the table and players will look like they're enjoying the football again.
