You should sit near me on the kop. Usually kids and chavs but there are a fair few of them.
There had to be one, or two, never happy unless there is something to find fault with, stupid bastards.

On a scale of Billy to Coutts in terms of forum opinion, I always imagined Lundstram would automatically end up at the Billy end of the scale no matter what he did. Looks like I've been proven right.

Aren't Unitedites great...

I don't get it.

What Coutts actually does is not that remarkable. But the way he always makes himself available to ALL the team when they've got the ball really makes this team tick. He doesn't chase the ball round like an idiot. But If the strikers get into trouble, they give it back to Coutts. If the wing-backs hit a dead end, Coutts is there for them. If the defence wants an "out ball" Coutts is their man.
Add to this his ability to have a look around him before he actually receives the ball and makes a accurate pass. Really makes our play flow beautifully.
I would suggest Lundstram takes a batch of match videos home with him and studies what Coutts does for the team, and hopefully replicate it himself..............ASAP!

I perposely watched the match back to analyse the lad Lundstram and I reckon he can become a very good player at this level. Couple of his qualities include his tackling ability and how comfortable he his with using both feet. For me, he tackles better than Coutts and has a better left foot. He's not played at this level before and has not featured much this season. As a team we started the season in a slight state of feeling our way around and we learned and progressed after each game. From watching the game back it seems Lundstram is in that early state of feeling his way around but learning and improving each time. He's still young and we have to remember players like Fleck and JOC were in out of the team early last season. Look how far they've come. He's got till January to cement his place or Wilder get someone in to do the job.

Speaking of hating on lundstram, what i hated on saturday was the commentary pronouncing his name like he was from leipzig rather than liverpool. What the hell was all that about.

OUCH! A lot of accurate observations. It seems he's improved his tackling but until he adds a forward dimension to his game he is still not a Championship player.

As for the Coutts role, well expressed by CarlMcBlade -

Add to this his ability to have a look around him before he actually receives the ball and makes a accurate pass.

It is called "vision" and at the moment Lundtram has got to learn it very quickly. Some have it naturally, an awareness of where others are instantly. Some play with no vision nor anticipation and just react to a situation. Those players are always a second behind the play and look slow and make errors because they have to stop and look, rather than "know".

Please God, let CW have got it right in his assessment of Lundy. Otherwise the kid will get slaughtered.

Seemed to be the main man at Oxford, and I can just about remember him looking a decent player on that appearance at the Lane.
He seems to like to ping a long pass, although we've not seen much of that so far,and we've seen he looks useful on the edge of the box and getting a shot away...scored at Forest, and missed a good chance not long after...got a few shooting chances v Brum...one good effort brought a save, one charged down, and one sliced wide..hopefully we'll see him slot one in v Millwall.
Came across a decent article on Lundstram from their Cup run...worth a read.

Interesting read that Dnblade, and all credit to the lad going to Oxford to play games.
It is quite clear Wilder has decided he is the boy to do a job for us in the middle of the park and is going to give Lundstram sufficient games to either take that chance, or be replaced by possibly Carruthers or a new face in January. As fans we just need to get behind the lad, as CW said this week look at how important a player Jack O'Connell is for us now and remember his stuttering start in a Blades shirt. CW has shown he will both back a player but also move on if they do not live up to his high expectations. Time for us again to trust CW and back both his judgement and the player in a Blades shirt. A bit less pressure for him today away at Milwall lets hope he has a solid game and maybe like at Forest sticks one away as he also nearly did against Birmingham.

The main part of Lundstram's play that makes me nervous is he has a slight tendency to switch off defensively.

This Wilder side is built on a ridiculously high work ethic and the ability to interchange positions and cover for your team mate. That isn't easy, and he's playing catch up. The rest are very drilled in the system and have played it lots.

When I watch Lundstram in our half, when the other side have a throw in etc, he's the one that tracks his man the least. I put that down to him being the newcomer to the eleven or a less experienced pro perhaps. But it does worry me.

He was arguably our best player.

One less scapegoat. I wish fans would realise that we're signing players who are often from lower divisions or aren't used to playing our way. It takes a few games for them to settle in.

The lads only 23, recently moved, not had an extended run in the team and keeps getting better with every game.

Think one or two may have judged a bit too early on this one. There's signs he could be a very decent player.

He is growing in confidence and it is showing in his performances.

He played well tonight, can see him becoming a key player.
UTB!

Well played today, JS. Strong, composed, alive to everything around him, and several top class balls forward.

Couttsy would surely have been proud of ya :)

Just back from the Villa, Thought Lundstram was excellent today. Seems to be doing the simple things right and deserves his place in the middle now.

Still makes a few daft errors in possession - trying to play the Hollywood pass or trying to be too smart when under pressure, but generally kept possession well, took the ball forward better and had a couple of pops at goal

Between Lundstram and Basham for MoM today, despite Leon working his bollocks off and Clayton having a decent game

Agree about the errors, but they are fewer than they were a month ago. I'd rather see him trying to be adventurous, and it not coming off now and then, than watch him going sideways and backwards. Full of admiration for the way he has stuck at it, and really come on, in the face of plenty of hostility from some sections of our "support".
