Doesn’t fill me with confidence……

- Won’t be a ‘leveraged’ deal, however he’s raising money via a bonds issue from his Clear TV company that will become repayable at some point in the future.

- Using a convicted conman as his advisor on the deal.

- Still going through the ‘fit and proper’ test

- exclusivity period is over but he’s still keen, I suppose this is where we see how many are queued up behind him?!!!!

- Some of the networks he claims his TV company work with deny knowledge of working with him and others have not responded.

This sounds like a typical Blades takeover scenario to me.
 
The financing and conman advisor lead me to feel concerned. We’d be shouldering quite a lot of uncertainty with both, which I’d prefer the club to avoid.
 
Sounds pretty dodgy to me.

I'm not a big fan of our current ownership however, I feel currently he's also not putting the club at risk. (Which is good!)

Wouldn't be surprised if Mike Ashley is still interested though 😬

Many said that over the period of the court case when the prince tried to take control, turns out for many he’s been the most stable investor prepared to put his hand in his pocket and give it a go backing the manager and the club. Didn’t work out but he tried and left us currently financially sound and owning our ow assets.

Can see this guy carrying the torch cause he’s all about the sport and not about the munneh.

Whilst being nervous about this myself - we’re Chelsea in debt to the tune of over a billion to their owner?

We’d swap positions in a heartbeat.

I’d rather have an owner with the funds to take us forward - the team, ground and training facilities. One or two seasons in the PL every ten years and a ground and training set up that are falling apart is crap.

The Prince doesn’t have the funds - unfortunately it sounds like this new guy doesn’t either.

Hopefully the Prince will be just as concerned. I would rather he stayed on than sell to a shady businessman. Christ we've had plenty of those over the years.
 
There’s a daytime documentary TV series Love Or Money about internet love scams which involve UK men or women sending money to somebody they’re in love with but have never met, often a very substantial sum, because they’ve fallen in love online.

The scam sometimes involves the scammer sending “proof” that they themselves have plenty of money in the form of an electronic bank statement, but the account is frozen, they just need some urgent cash for work purposes to be repaid. The point is it isn’t difficult to forge documents these days, surely the EFL isn’t that naive and Mauriss is just a fantasist time waster.
 
I do not think there is one sensible SUFC supporter who considers that this guy would be better than our existing owner, yet people still want him out ASAP.
The existing owner is doing a good job and has established a good platform for us to move forward, the problem is that premiership funds were squandered.
The identity and subsequent financial clout of the next owner is the most important decision, in one way it is beneficial that we are not in the premiership as we have minimal funds to lever against.
An interesting 12 months ahead, where I for one hope that the Prince stays involved and brings in external investors
 
Pretty concerning to read this, though various grey areas remain. He could be talking the truth, though why is he such an unknown quantity and working with a convicted fraudster?

We certainly want no involvement with Saudi or Qatar governments whatsoever.

I'd much rather the club be self sufficient instead of hoping for some big sugar daddy to come in and buy us things.

Good programme that but I'm still perplexed as to how many people fall for these scams in this day and age. Someone phones you offering money it's a con.
 
I want prince to stay, just because he doesn’t spend millions because it’s not sustainable people think he’s a bad owner. No… he just doesn’t want to end up skint and the club being skint and end up like Wednesday and Derby who were transfer embargo. Correct me if I’m wrong but has any nothern team outside prem ever spent a load of money to get into the prem? It’s all london based teams
 
I think the prince has been a terrific owner. He’s had the clubs best interests at heart. Allowed us to sign people like Sander Berge. Got the club and the stadium back together.

The only thing that’s limited him is his personal wealth. He’s not a billionaire.

I’d much rather keep the price who obviously does care about the club over some conman.

Premier league status and money got in players like Berge. We could have had you or I in charge and attract quality in the premier league

Absolutely no way McCabe sanctions any of the big signings.

I know Mcburnie divides opinion but the prince personally acted as guarantor on that transfer as McCabe didn’t want us spending that type of money on a forward.

We’d have gone with loans and a few 4/5 m players if McCabe had won

I'm not particularly interested in what ifs and maybes tbh. The truth is we will never know so let's stop pretending we were inside the board room. We absolutely could have spent wiser so to use that as something to knock a old owner doesn't really make much sense in this context either

Totally agree. However I suspect the decision to put the club up for sale isn't entirely his own.

Saudi officials/government don't tend to pit themselves against each other and it's fairly likely we'll end up in the same division as Newcastle in the next 3-5 years.

The interviews he gave last year didn't sound like a man coming to the end of his patience. I'm sure he was drained by Wilder's chaotic departure but he seemed a bit galvanised and excited about the future, despite the change of plans.

I made the point a while ago that it's not unrealistic to think that Henry Mauriss was referred to us by Staveley and her group, or some associate of it, upon losing the race to buy Newcastle. I could be way off, but the dots join up in my opinion.

The Prince is on record to say that he personally had to underwrite the purchase of a number of players including Mcburnie as McCabe refused to. He had a history of it the last time we were in the premiership.

Seems that someone connected to Newcastle is keen for the world to know what kind of 'businessman' Mauriss is.
Disappointing the Prince would even entertain him given he must know his background.
Steer well clear.
