Been in the United shop today and was shocked at the price of a bog standard round neck t-shirt ... £35! The badge wasn't even sown in, it was just print. Last time I noticed, maybe a year or two back, same type of t-shirts were usually around £20, I always waited until they were put on sale for a tenner.

£35 for a pretty basic t-shirt for me is just a joke, I can't see um selling much at that price.

There's a polo I want in the club shop but at £40 it will stay there. The prices have been higher since we had Adidas.

Have they still got the SUFC cycling jersey in the shop? Wouldn't mind getting that one.

Yes

Back to OP; I popped in on Monday and walked straight back out. There's nothing worth buying in there, especially at those prices. Some of the plain adidas stuff can have a transfer put on it for £2.50 extra. But that same adidas top is £10+ cheaper in sports direct anyway. Probably cheaper online too.

I liked the macron stuff personally. Stitched on badges. Looked more 'personal'.

I picked up a rather nice polo shirt with a sewn on badge for £18 a couple of weeks ago.

Drew many admiring glances around Agios yesterday :)

So has the quality

Overall yes. But, sort of related but also not really, every year I go to Portugal, and buy a Benfica shirt (my "other" team) and the sponsors logos can be very fragile. Anything over a 30 degree wash and off they come in a very short time. Ironically a snide one someone bought for me once outlasted the official stuff.

I've been to other clubs shops with adidas as their kit manufacturer and their merchandise is so much nicer, tad more expensive, but it's high quality. Additionally, why have they stopped selling baseball caps, got a old one from 2006, kind of want a new one though.

You have two choices really. Set fire to the clothes, they are beyond saving, or work at Beres where everything will smell of pork anyway ;)

There is some right shite in the club shop, I don't usually go in but did on Saturday as me, our lass and her son are going abroad and the young un' wanted a nice United polo shirt. Anyway, most the clothes are fine but away from the clothing there is some proper shitty tat to be had but if it's there I guess they sell them so what do I know...

When the new Shoreham/Cherry St development is done and the shop moves, it would be nice to really have some quality items to buy.

The Dean Hammond stock is on discount. You won't "see" them though so you will have to ask :)

Personally I preferred the macron shirts but I thought the rest of wear was rubbish. £40 for that polo shirt is scandalous. I saw the same polo shirt minus the badge for £20! So basically in a nut shell we're to pay an extra £20 for the badge. Bit steep imo! Not disagreeing that the quality might be slightly better though.

Before we had a 'proper' kit supplier, some people suggested that, sure, it'd be nice to move to someone like Adidas... But that the pricing would be higher.

If I want something other than a shirt or trainingwear, I'll generally purchase it elsewhere, as I don't expect the official store to be the cheapest place for it.

I'd imagine they'd have to charge somewhere near RRP wouldn't they? There was a pop up shop in Hornsea Freeport a while ago doing loads of Adidas stuff, as long as you were a rail or King Kong you were sorted.

Pretty much, but that's not exclusive to polos etc. Can get an Adidas football shirt for £15 here, RRP is only £20, but United's (and any other club, really) will be £40-45, because they know they have an audience that wants 'em and will pay for 'em. Economics, really!
