What do you mean intentions? Intentions to discredit McCabe and Birch? Don't take things so seriously. They have discredited themselves perfectly well. I've got principles in terms of who I vote for etc but football is very different and I'm sure you know that.
You've known for as long as I've posted/ranted on here that I go to the matches - I aint stoppin because of some awful, cash obsessed property speculator and have never suggested otherwise as far as I know. What pains me about renewing is the thought of Birch sat there watching the renewals come in thinking things are reasonably OK, that's my wage covered, let's get some loans in etc etc. That's what I meant about a renewal being a form of acceptance of the way things are being handled at the top but obviously there is nowt anyone can do about if they still want to go, as I do. Write a letter to Birch etc etc, not for me. And don't say bring a big banner - I cannot be bothered and don't want to.
I detest what McCabe has done to SUFC and feel sick when I see or hear Trevor Birch. I'll still be ridiculing Monty, Collins and Doyle as they humiliate the club in the 3rd tier. But, I will almost certainly be acquiring another season ticket because I can just about detach the horror of paying £409 to a McCabe owned company from the enjoyment I get from stepping out of the door to go to the boozer and BDTBL on a Saturday afternoon.
Intentions - I mean your intentions to raise the issues that you see (sometimes with verifiable evidence other times based upon assumptions, which have been proved right and wrong).
Perhaps you're right, I shouldn't take things too seriously (as you have mentioned to me before), but when someone say the same thing time and time again you start to believe that its what they think.
Whilst I don't know you personally, I know you go to the matches and I know that you are also entirely pissed off with things at the club (as am I, I just don't make my posts reflect this) but I did expect you to stop going because of your views. Seriously. I'd built up this opinion that you are principled and you want the club to be run properly, If there'd been a poll on here asking who we thought wouldn't renew your name would be up near the top. Even though you like a wind up, I've taken your posts seriously (take that as a compliment).
Like I say I find it hypocritical that you believe so passionately that our club is being destroyed from the inside that you're still prepared to show your support of the regime and especially as its in the only way that we know works - through the balance sheets. Perhaps you'd stop using a local Indian takeaway if they stopped giving free poppadoms or the madras was made with processed chicken, but you're not prepared to do the same with football. Of course we all know that Football fans are more loyal and forgiving.
There is no doubt that if the renewals are comparable with last year that Birch, Steer and Batho will think that things are reasonably OK and perhaps will be justified in thinking that they are running the club in the correct way. They may also think, that the passionately opposed forum members (such as yourself), callers to Football Heaven and the fans who make their point of being less than supportive at games are all talk and when it comes to the crunch, will pay up for a ST.
I agree that the match day experience is worth the ST renewal, but unlike yourself I would not renew if I connected things like "detest" "feel sick", "the horror of paying £409 to a McCabe owned company" to my club or statements like "ridiculing" and "humiliate the club" when I talk about the players that will no doubt represent us next season. Unless of course I wanted to be dramatic. Like I said, I'll read your posts from an entirely different perspective now.
You bang the drum to the same tune, you just won't join the band... fair enough.
