Hello all,

I am a Chesterfield fan, going to Bramall Lane on Wednesday evening to take my son to see the FA Cup. Can anyone suggest which streets I may be able to park on near the ground - don't want to be carrying the boy too far, or pushing the buggy along main roads!

Good luck for the rest of the season...hope our Jamie does the business for you and earns us a good sell on!

Hello :)

You should be able to park in the main car park on Cherry Street... this is always open now because it serves as access for the hotel :)

Sounds ideal...is there a back up place I could park just in case?

Most of the roads around the Lane are fine to park on... but being residential roads, they may be fairly busy depending on what time you get down there.

There are a good few hundred places in the car park though, so I should imagine you'd be fine in there :)

Not the cup match... the Cup...

FA Cup tour heads to the Lane

The magic of The FA Cup will be coming to town on Wednesday 25th February as the all new FA Cup Trophy Tour comes to Bramall Lane.

And hoping to get their hands on the Cup will be Italian loanee Arturo Lupoli and legend Tony Currie, who will join the tour to meet and greet fans.

The Football Association and lead FA Cup Sponsor, E.ON, have joined forces to launch this unique nationwide tour of The FA Cup aimed at giving young fans the chance to sample the history, heritage and magic of the world's most famous domestic cup competition.

Who looks daft now? ;)

Must admit i also thought he was on about the game until you pointed it out Linz. Was gonna say summat, but glad i left it for others to look daft! :D

I was only asking.

It was an obvious question to ask lol.

There is also a car park behind the Kop on Shoreham Street as well with about 100+ spaces in also.

Yeah, but it is gated and people actually pay for a "season ticket" to use that car park and it is patrolled... not the best idea to use it to nip into the Lane.

I thought it all stopped at half 5 and was free for anyone to use?

I've seen the gates locked at night though... an advantage of the main car park now is that it hasn't got gates at all :)

Sorry for the confusion, I can see how that happened! I sometimes forget that the FA Cup actually carries on after the first round - that's where our involvement generally ends

Hahaha... no worries. I knew what you meant :)

Hope you enjoy your trip to the Lane... won't be long before you have a fancy new ground to go to by the looks of things. The diggers were already on the site of the "new" Saltergate.

I won't believe it until they are putting the nets up to be honest. The way we are performing at the moment we will only need a 2,000 capacity ground anyway!
