Speaking as a Wilder fan, even I am getting bored of the bollocks he is spouting about incoming players.

Either due to assurances made to him from above being reneged on, or in an attempt to try and placate fans.

If it’s the latter then he must think we have goldfish memories.

Also getting a little bored of him blaming players he has ‘Inherited’. If they aren’t good enough, then don’t register them in the squad.

I understand that there are certain things which we as fans will never get to know, but we deserve a little more transparency and honesty. We are the paying ‘punters’ after all.
You forgot to put in”the group”. A load of flanneling bo####ks.

Just another complete fucking half truth told by wilder and what he was probably told himself … sums us up this season …
He's turned in to a YES man to protect his Very Good salary ,must know if he loses this gig he's finished at this level ,Boro a stable rich club, soon got shot. ,Watford what a headfuck of a club were the only opion for him to get back in the game,as I don't believe anyone else at this level offered him owt, tell me im wrong? And he got lucky been asked back by these American fuck wits and no doubt negotiated himself a fantastic contract. He's a changed man from the starling passionate blade he was, pkus theres no AK for him to lean on which you can see is draining him,

If that's true someone should probably lose their job. Or for Christ sake use it as a final tipping point to hire some competent people behind the scenes. Even my daughter's U7 team has a clear understanding of registration rules.
With the owners admitting that they didn't know much about running a football club, you would/should expect that the present incumbents would know how these things work. Similar scenario last summer with the overseas players limit, then having to juggle them around.
Really amateur stuff, unless the new mantra is 'find a loophole'.

We've misunderstood the rules and either believed Ukaki was an U21 or that we were somehow forced into registering him.

Regardless what anyone says, there is nothing in the EFL regs that requires a club to register a contracted player if they don't want to.
Did we have the same issue the other season?

We had to register someone because they were a contracted player, although they weren't or were never going to be fit all season?

Weren't we told, you can only leave people out of the squad, if you have too many players?

I might be totally wrong, but im sure I can remember something like that happening.

Would make sense, he’s 21 but 2 months too old to count as the cut off is being born on or after 1st January 2005 and he was born in October 2004.

We did the same thing with the ESC slots last year and had to ship Caceres off to Dunfermline so we could sign Zatterstrom as we didn’t seem to think the Bulgarian lad would take up a slot due to age but did. Glad we rushed Jeff off to sign Zatterstrom mind he’s been a great pick..

Just posted similar, we ballsed up on the international player slots last year.

That was in the PL and under different rules. I do remember it because it sounded mental even then but the current rules don't force teams to register anyone, just limits the maximum

I think that rule was quoted when we left Bash out of the squad in January after his injury? But IIRC we did only name 24 players in the squad.

Cant wait to see the line up for tomorrow, be exactly the same as Saturday, we're in for a treat! Then after the match Wilder will say, I'm not sure what happened there?

Yeah I understand that there are certain things which he can’t talk about in full detail. But over the summer he’s spoken about players coming in or bids being lodged on a number of occasions, only for them not to materialise.
Why give any timescales, it’s either naivety or stupidity.
Or putting pressure on the board to do summat they may have agreed to.

Or deflecting the pressure to the board since they are the ones limiting the squad rebuild.

The time frames have to be within the transfer window or the remaining window for loans.

If that’s his strategy, I’m not convinced it’s working. It’s making him look like a tool to be honest.

It’s disgusting how he’s singled McGuiness out, it boarders bullying.
McGuiness has been better than 90% of his summer signings. Never seen a player used as a scapegoat as much as this in all the time I’ve followed the blades.

And basically calling Ukaki a problem, and making it clear he "inherited" him. Imagine being a 21 year old, 3,000 miles from home, and being labelled a problem and unwanted?

Chris has made it clear he's a manager and not a coach, but he's a fucking awful manager if this is how he's treating his players. Every manager inherits players but there's absolutely no need to be so disrespectful to those you didn't sign.
