What has Donovan done wrong?

I did laugh at this, it reminded me so much of my post on Saturday evening but I was joking, which I thought was obvious although apparently not to some! I do admire your passion though, genuinely! In fact this was my favorite post of the day by far!

When Wilder proves you wrong though can I gloat and told you I told you so?! 😂 😉
Your joking again

Danny Hall knows:

"Since [Fleetwood], his involvement has been limited to cameo appearances, with Tahith Chong cementing his place on the right of United's attack. Justifiably so, too, with the Curaçao international producing some promising displays either side of scoring his first Blades goal in the 3-0 win over Lincoln City earlier this month."

"[R]eal-life football isn’t a computer game played with robots and numbers and the obvious conclusion is that, at the minute, Chong is doing more (or at least enough things right) to keep his place."
Astonishing. It's a no-truth world.

The obvious conclusion is Hall is Wilders mouthpiece or is it ring piece.

Taken from Bartleby's presser thread:

How do you assess Donovan's progression and usefulness at the moment?

- young player playing at championship level - no guarantees when talk to Brentford, I'd never give guarantees to clubs where we send players on loan to either, it's a squad game, has to be comp for places. Delighted with Rom's attitude and can play right or left, can start or come on - he understands 3 points is most important thing.

OK what does he need to do then to get more minutes?

- I don't understand what (the question is)

Well, if he is to become a regular starter

- Chong played on Satdi because he played well on Wednesday night. Get an opportunity, play well and you put yourself in the manager's thoughts. Have to change things to suit. Pat could say the same after we took him off after scoring 2 but we did. Team game. Team has got character, togetherness and I demand that.

I can absolutely see an argument in the new term "finisher" argument for a wide tricky player having more success against tired defenders coming off the bench.

However that works best when we have 2/3/4 wide players of that style causing issues. Maybe now we have more or less a full side to pick from that's the plan and perhaps it works out. It certainly helped us finish strongly on Saturday.

Maybe I am high on Donavon and when he plays 90s the clamour will fade but he's got something and works his arse off. The others have got to up their game to keep him out!

Just reminds me of McAtee and JRS (certain extent Brooks)

I'm sure Donovan will play a big part this year but he has to do what Wilder tells him. He gets the crowd excited and has done some great bits but he's also gone missing and gone wandering.

Chong was terrible and has had to fight his way back in and done really well. Only rough patch recently is getting absolutely battered when he moved to RWB.

Wild take to suggest he has done really well, or another Danny Hall burner account. He has been okay - claims for anything better are not supported by any evidence. He averages worse than the team average of the S2 player rating system, and is not in the top 10 of this season. Fairly low attacking output too.

Donavon has done nothing wrong, apart from been positive inhis play. A blind man can see he has loads of potential
Let him off the leash. Compared to Campbell and BBD he is miles in front of them
My fear is he will go back in January and fulfill his potential elsewhere.
Come on Mr Wilder. Smell the coffee

He's (Wilder) is too stubborn. His way or no way as others have found out and left.

I’m a wilder fan but he thinks Diaz is better than Donovan. Scary.
He said that Chong is in as he played well Vs Lincoln.

I don't think fans are wanting Chong dropping. It's the other side.
I was getting increasingly frustrated after half time he didn't swap him on. Should have happend within 10 mins of 2nd half.

Diaz was very poor again. Donovan did more in 20 mins than Diaz has done in 200 minutes.

Has to start on Friday.

Seriki did help but was pretty rusty.
Yeah, he looked slightly lacking in confidence regarding his own pace once or twice. But still much more of a threat than what we had down that side before.

Lads a very good player.

What’s more is he puts a shift in and looks like he really wants it. Which should be a minimum for any Blades player.

P.S- if we’re not playing players because they give the ball away we wouldn’t be able to field a team. 🤷‍♂️

It’s actually laughable how much he improved us. Him and Seriki bringing some pace, trickery, directness that the rest of the squad is basically allergic to.
It was like watching a different team when they came on. They made a turgid game very entertaining.

In ten years of backing Wilder, I've not been so annoyed with him than I am about his failure to play Donovan. If he can't see that Donovan adds pace and skill to a squad lacking in these qualities then I dont know what he is watching.

Beat his man too many times today, too inconsistent, should’ve played it safer in my opinion. You just don’t get the level of experience and know how as BBD. BBD gives a nice balance to proceedings, especially with kicking the ball forward. Donovan not quite ready.
