Ever so excited. Id love another signing before the weekend but just glad it's back

I think we should win this one, Swansea have not had a great pre season and are low on confidence from relegation, it will take them a few games to get going. But when they do they will be difficult to beat

I just hope my usual post-match boozer hasn't been shut due to the actions of its dickhead owner this week.

No Mawson for them but they've signed Bersant Celina and are set to loan Lukas Nmecha, both from Man City. Both dangerous attacking players who can give us problems.

Sam Clucas is injured.

Hard to predict how they'll line up without looking through the pre season fixtures. But they have some very good and quick players and should make it hard for us.

I don't expect us to win. A 1-1 draw would be my shout.

I expect us to line up like this...

Henderson

Basham Egan O'Connell

Baldock Lundstram Evans Fleck Stevens

McGoldrick Clarke

Subs: Moore, Stearman, Freeman, Leonard, Duffy, Holmes, Sharp

It'll be a bad sign for me if Duffy doesn't start but I don't think he will.

Tough match, but I quite fancy this opener tbh. Being Swedish, it will be interesting to see how Graham Potter will do with Swansea this season. He did really well with Östersund but not sure if his managerial approach will work in the UK though. Can't see them giving him anywhere near the same sort of time that Daniel Kindberg etc did.

Good test for the first game. A point wouldn't be a bad result.

Based on preseason has to be Henderson, Bash, Egan, JOC, Baldock, Evans, Fleck, Duffy, Stevens, McG and Sharp for me.

Leon has looked off the boil but Wilder doesn't like leaving him out so he'll be in before Sharp I imagine.

Stevens was frankly shite at the end of last season but had flashes against Inter. Would prefer an option though.

Any new signings might change that. Would love Stevens cover as above, and Duffy cover, we're thinner than bible paper there.

Can't wait though.

Blades win for me Saturday.

Swansea low on confidence and probably underestimating the test. Late Saturday afternoon kick off, everyone 10 pints in by half 5, sun out = Bramall Lane bouncing.

The team Ricky put up may well be right but it somehow doesn't excite me, it's the midfield I suppose, when it was coutts,Fleck and Duffy it did, hopefull Duffy for Evans.

Draw would be a good result with Boro away hot on its heels.

4 points from the first three games would be a decent haul.

So now it appears Swansea have a good chance of signing Ryan Woods.

Super.

Maybe we'll get to face him again on the opening day.

I would prefer Stearman, an out and out defender, as the right side player in the back three rather than Basham.
Think Bashams pace (in comparison to Stearman) and ability to carry the ball will see him nailed on for the RCB position.

Id put a large stake on a back 3 of JOC, Egan and Basham v Swansea. And that's the one Id pick every day of the week.

The best time to play them.

They've got a lot of skilful players but lack strength or someone to put a boot in. Lots of injuries and they're in the process of shipping out and bringing in. I expect to win by a couple.

Looking forward to some pre match boozing and seeing what the view from the new ST seat is like

Far too early for the football season. I haven't even had my summer holiday yet!! Will be at Little BB's cricket instead. By choice!

They signed Celina as mentioned above, really rated him last season at Ipswich, that's a good signing and they have acquired Scotland International Barrie McKay. Both pacey, tricky and skillful. I would have preferred if they'd signed these players after Saturday teatime!

In the Arsenal-Ostersund Europa League tie at the Emirates, Ostersund were tactically limited but never gave up, so Potter will be looking for that same work ethic at Swansea. But I do fancy us to nick this in front of the home fans

The only time I've seen anything of Bersant Celina was on this video (I assume it's the same guy) where he looks like he's only just decided to become a football player.

I assume that he's usually better than this
