Read the bloody article, by a confirmed and professional source.

It's not like it's "from a friend" it's a reputable source you absolute muppet.
United have borrowed against their Premier League solidarity payments, and then parachute payments following relegation, from Macquarie Bank since returning to the top flight, with the latest arrangement covering all money due to them from the top flight until the summer of 2024.

We agree then.

No
You don't understand what you're reading
I'll break it down for you

That was last time we went up

This is this time

with the latest arrangement covering all money due to them from the top flight until the summer of 2024.

You read the article wrong, we have no loans against future parachute payments, which makes sense as we could have stayed up and got the full whack

That is incorrect.

The new loan is against future payments.

Any parachute payment is already accounted for and spent.

I was under the impression we only borrowed against this seasons money

You seem pretty certain so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt

I think this is that defining moment , half way through the season with 8 points, that we all know we are down and maybe it’s for the best for the club to evaluate its priorities, regroup, and prepare for an all out assault in the championship next season.

But there is not doubt, this is it, there is no way back from this day.

Toledo
Don’t go overboard….. we’ve got 9 points 😜

I bet FMBlade1 didn’t reckon much to Wilder’s interview did you?! Calling the players out for shit defending.

Apart from the obvious, the main frustration yesterday was just how slow we are when we have the ball. There was times when the crowd were screaming at them to move it a little quicker and actually move about a bit to create some space. The first half in particular was painfully ponderous.

Also, why do we seem to have gone to just passing the ball back to Wes all the time (who is the main culprit in holding on to the ball for too long)?

When we actually had a bit of a go and played with a bit more attacking intent, we looked good and had our best spell of the game. Once we sat back after the second, the inevitable then happened.

Woke up with another football hangover. You couldn't make yesterday up. It was a bit like watching an episode of Laurel & Hardy. The only thing that could have made it funnier was if Jack Robinson had a plank and span round intermittently while Ollie Norwood ducked and we all waited for the inevitable. 😄

Exactly. And so we immediately lose possession as he eventually punts a long ball that we fail to control, or to a lone striker.

Can’t see who the “professional source” is but the article clearly states “the summer of 2024” which is when the final 23/24 instalment is paid, after league positions have been finalized.
The first payment for 24/25 is not paid until after the season begins, which is why some clubs borrow money in June each year. A look at the timelines of charges at Companies House has far better detail than a Star article even if the article is factually correct.

Not aimed at you Sean but for those who may not immediately grasp what United did:

In February, we borrowed against anything remaining to be paid last season and an additional £15m, secured against the third year of parachute payments which we would have been eligible for had we not been promoted. As it is, we were promoted which means that the repayment of that £15m (probably around £16.5m) will come from the £100m+ we'll receive this season as a Premier League club. I'd not be at all surprised if we factored the majority of this season's PL income back in June.

On those facts it's catagorically incorrect for DannyRotten to say that we've already spent next season's money, not least because we don't know which division we'll be in.

It's also worth noting that the article is dated February 2023 so is nearly a year out of date.

The next set of published accounts is going to show you are so far from the truth that you won't be able to comment without people laughing at you again.

Let's not forget what has been said about any monies being spent now, that they will ALL have to be recovered in the future.
