Wow that's a name from the past, and he wore Stylo Matchmakers I think?Their number 7 reminded me of Alan Hinton.
Where's Jebbo?A (currently playing) team of our academy graduates would look something like:
Ramsdale
Seriki
Walker
Maguire
Norrington-Davis
Arblaster
Peck
David Brooks
N’Diaye
Calvert-Lewin
Che Adams
Subs:
Slater
Lankshear
Sharp
Osula
Long
Whiteman
Andre Brooks
That side would have a half-decent chance at staying up in the Prem. Which is phenomenal when you think of how much clubs spend to be competitive in that league. I doubt many academies in the country could match that. I’m assuming Man U, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea could, just based on numbers. Maybe Southampton? But we’re right up there in terms of output. And pound for pound spent we must be top two or three.
I clocked JR-S having a conversation worth Wilder. He moved towards the other wing and Sunderland's left FB followed him. leaving a huge space for Seriki which he exploited. Then Sydi Peck came across to help too. Great tactics from CW.
Gilchrist is never a right back,he looked so much more comfortable at right centre half. It’s his position,it’s what he has learnt. All the talk this week has been about Seriki or Gilchrist and its been boiled down to a debate on whether we want to defend (Gilchrist) or attack (Seriki).
On today's evidence, Seriki is better at both.
Shut Watson up when he came on, after he'd given Gilchrist a terrible time in the first half
Jes went up front/#10. Brilliant change by Wilder as we looked a lot better in a 432I clocked JR-S having a conversation worth Wilder. I think we sat near each other. That dude spent the 1st half scraming at Campbell and JRS. I wonder what they all have in common...Bloke behind us in the BL corner was on his back screaming at him every time the ball went near. Absolute jokers some of our fans
Might have a chance to see against WBAGilchrist is never a right back,he looked so much more comfortable at right centre half. It’s his position,it’s what he has learnt.
Good, as it’ll be where he’s playing against WBAGilchrist is never a right back,he looked so much more comfortable at right centre half. It’s his position,it’s what he has learnt.
Sometimes I think Seriki may lack a little composure at times, but he's come on leaps and bounds and is clearly a wonderful footballer. If that's his slight weakness though I literally can't think of a worse thing to do than scream at him. Proper neanderthal behaviourI think we sat near each other. That dude spent the 1st half scraming at Campbell and JRS. I wonder what they all have in common...
That said, I feel Seriki's off-the-ball positioning is often a little bit suspect and this is why CW is not too eager to start him as it might cost us. But I hope it will be improved on. When he is in action, he is solid both on D and O.
Need Bergen Blade for this one. Did JR-S just move inside, or did the system change all together? Looked like a 4-2-2-1 after the change, with Hamer and JR-S moving inside after the 4-4-1 we started the 2nd half with.I clocked JR-S having a conversation worth Wilder. He will and it will be a big test for him.Next match will see an enforced CB pairing of Gilchrist & Robinson because our first choices are both thick, so I think Femi will be pretty nailed on to start.
Changed the game tonight.
Put Sunderland on the back foot, defended brilliantly against a very talented Watson and gave him something to think about going the other way.
Involved in the goal, involved in most of our better moments in the second half.
We have to see more of him.
I think we’ll see the return of the three. Gilchrist, Robbo, RND. We’re away at a decent side with points in the bag this month, both recognised centre halves out, 3-4-3, with Seriki and Burrows running the full length of the pitch each side, probably O’Hare missing out.Next match will see an enforced CB pairing of Gilchrist & Robinson because our first choices are both thick, so I think Femi will be pretty nailed on to start.
Apparently Wilder doesn't have any tactics though.I clocked JR-S having a conversation worth Wilder. He moved towards the other wing and Sunderland's left FB followed him. leaving a huge space for Seriki which he exploited. Then Sydi Peck came across to help too. Great tactics from CW.
