Seriki

In fact. No I don’t.

The FotMob player rating is calculated based on more than 300 individual stats per player per match from Opta

A (currently playing) team of our academy graduates would look something like:

Ramsdale

Seriki
Walker
Maguire
Norrington-Davis

Arblaster
Peck
David Brooks

N’Diaye
Calvert-Lewin
Che Adams

Subs:
Slater
Lankshear
Sharp
Osula
Long
Whiteman
Andre Brooks

That side would have a half-decent chance at staying up in the Prem. Which is phenomenal when you think of how much clubs spend to be competitive in that league. I doubt many academies in the country could match that. I’m assuming Man U, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea could, just based on numbers. Maybe Southampton? But we’re right up there in terms of output. And pound for pound spent we must be top two or three.
Where's Jebbo?

Changed the game tonight.
Put Sunderland on the back foot, defended brilliantly against a very talented Watson and gave him something to think about going the other way.

Involved in the goal, involved in most of our better moments in the second half.

We have to see more of him.

All the talk this week has been about Seriki or Gilchrist and its been boiled down to a debate on whether we want to defend (Gilchrist) or attack (Seriki).

On today's evidence, Seriki is better at both.

Shut Watson up when he came on, after he'd given Gilchrist a terrible time in the first half

I clocked JR-S having a conversation worth Wilder. He moved towards the other wing and Sunderland's left FB followed him. leaving a huge space for Seriki which he exploited. Then Sydi Peck came across to help too. Great tactics from CW.

You’re spot on. JRS abandoned the wing and the game changed pattern. We were the better side from then on.

Gilchrist is never a right back,he looked so much more comfortable at right centre half. It’s his position,it’s what he has learnt.

Jes went up front/#10. Brilliant change by Wilder as we looked a lot better in a 432

Made the difference tonight. Proved his display against Oxford wasn't a flash in the pan against weak opposition. Physically overwhelmed and technically out performed players that had previously been a thorn in our side, in a team that at times had the beating of us.

He's passing his tests with flying colours.

Bloke behind us in the BL corner was on his back screaming at him every time the ball went near. Absolute jokers some of our fans
I think we sat near each other. That dude spent the 1st half scraming at Campbell and JRS. I wonder what they all have in common...

That said, I feel Seriki's off-the-ball positioning is often a little bit suspect and this is why CW is not too eager to start him as it might cost us. But I hope it will be improved on. When he is in action, he is solid both on D and O.

The lad is an absolute beast.

Against Wrexham (until the injury), Oxford and Sunderland tonight, the opposition players have looked scared to death of him when he bombs forward.

I think people need to calm down about him a little bit. He has all the defensive positioning of Jaden Bogle at the moment. Wilder has to scream at him all the time to get closer to his man but he's largely miles off.

He's still learning though. Lots of promise.

Sometimes I think Seriki may lack a little composure at times, but he's come on leaps and bounds and is clearly a wonderful footballer. If that's his slight weakness though I literally can't think of a worse thing to do than scream at him. Proper neanderthal behaviour

Need Bergen Blade for this one. Did JR-S just move inside, or did the system change all together? Looked like a 4-2-2-1 after the change, with Hamer and JR-S moving inside after the 4-4-1 we started the 2nd half with.

Either way I think you're right, the reason was to create space for Femi and he used it well.

Next match will see an enforced CB pairing of Gilchrist & Robinson because our first choices are both thick, so I think Femi will be pretty nailed on to start.

Think he looked very good going forward today but on a couple of occasions looked slightly lazy when recovering a loose ball. Although in these cases he still won the ball had his opposite man been a bit more switched the ball turns over.

I’m not sure about that since Kyle is still a very good player and often plays against world class opposition on a regular basis .

What I would say is that I can’t think of any defender who has played for us other than Kyle who at his age has shown more all round ability and potential to become an outstanding player in his position .

Edit - this relates to HG’s comment that he is currently playing better than Kyle Walker .

He will and it will be a big test for him.
If he does well, he should keep the shirt

Really should have scored tho.

I think we’ll see the return of the three. Gilchrist, Robbo, RND. We’re away at a decent side with points in the bag this month, both recognised centre halves out, 3-4-3, with Seriki and Burrows running the full length of the pitch each side, probably O’Hare missing out.

Apparently Wilder doesn't have any tactics though.
