Seriki turning his career around from Beerschot/Rochdale/Rotherham reject to looking a brilliant prospect at Championship level is one of the highlights of the season. The lad has shown some serious mentality to do that and has stood up to every challenge thrown at him. Hats off to him and more to come too I reckon.

Yeah it’s great to see when a young lad has some difficult times but then overcomes them. His physical development alone is startling. I don’t know what his character is like but you don’t come back from those kind of loans without some hard graft and an understanding of your own weaknesses and how to develop them.

Let’s see if he can take it to the next level and be a trusted starter at champ level. But the signs are good.

He was in beast mode tonight. Both him and Vini. Seriki was MOM for me though. Not only is he good on the ball but he reads the game well too. A couple of times he drifted over into left centre half territory to successfully break up an attack. We must have the best set of full backs in the division.

Have to hold my hands up on Femi.

When he went to Rochdale and didn't impress or pin down a place in a team going out of the league, then didn't get any sort of look in at Rovrum as they got relegated, I thought he'd be moved on considering his age.

Really impressed me this season.

There is no way in the world that gilchrist should be playing ahead of him from now on

Seriki has absolutely everything give him a 5 year contract tommorow morning

Russell Martin would push for six years.

"We must have the best set of full backs in the division"......... yep, and GK, CBs, CDM and No.8. The rest are up for debate.

He improved as the game went on. The first 20 min he was standing off too far from the number 7. And let him cross too often.
Once we got a grip of things in the middle of the park it allowed Seriki to get forward and get involved more. Playing matches at this level will give him experience and hopefully he can develop more.

The more I see this lad play , the more I believe that he has a great future ahead of him .

Defensively he is very sound and has put in some tackles in recent matches of which the great Len Badger would have been proud and there can be no higher compliment than that .

Add to that his athleticism , willingness to support the attack and show considerable skills in doing so I can see no reason why he should not become an outstanding performer at the highest level .

We can only hope that when he does so , he is still wearing a Blades shirt .

Looked good 1v1 against a decent player but with his athleticism this is an area that will be easiest for him to improve, often times it’s just a case of getting tighter, this is an instruction he had to be told against Coventry which he took on board and it helped. His defending when the play develops on the other side of the pitch has been the most impressive.

He’ll get more minutes now so if he can continue to prove that reliability he will become first choice, going forward it’s not even close between him & Gilchrist. Exceptional ability to drive with the ball, often backs it up with good delivery too. When you see him do that it does make you wonder how his loans went the way they did but has clearly learned from them and is now pushing to be a starter.

It’d be very harsh on him if he was dropped for Friday after getting the MotM. He did absolutely everything well and whenever he has played this season, has done.

I find it fascinating when young players break through like this. A couple of appearances for us prior to this season where he's not looked great (Lincoln at home stands out, although nobody was good that night) and a few loan moves where he's not pulled up any trees. Fast forward six months or so and all of a sudden he looks a proper player. It's great to see.

It's like how Popeye is a weedy fucker until he has his spinach and turns into a beast. This lad has certainly been on the spinach.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Gilchrist starts on Friday. I think Wilder views Seriki and Gilchrist as horses for courses, Gilchrist is stronger defensively and will play against stronger teams, or away from home whereas Seriki will be the option when we’re expected to make all the running against poorer teams or where we’re needing to attack in the last twenty minutes. At the moment, it’s quite rare for us to have two players in a position who can be rotated quite easily.
