Out of these 2 who should start the match n who should come onto right wing as a sub for me it would be

Start Flynn
Sub Campbell ryce cos he's an impact player to bring on later in the match

for me jcr has to start. flynn cant just expect to walk back into the team when imo jcr has played well .
why not bring flynn on as the 'impact' player if he keeps playing consistently well in that role and plays better than jcr then he can have his starting 11 place back but until then its jcr's and rightfully so

Maybe both will be in the starting line-up and soon. Che will be rested before long I would imagine.

Considering they are both classed as RM, you couldn't have 2 more contrasting players.

One can win you a game, one could stop you losing a game.

At this level if we are to be thinking " We need to stop teams winning", then we should just pack up and fuck of to Meadowhall on a Saturday.

Seriously, it's a no brainer.

Clough didn't want to lose games - Adkins wants to win games.

Whilst a bit of a cryptic answer, that should answer the question.

There are two ways to avoid losing, and one of them is by winning :D

I would like to see Matt Done in that position, when he comes back, Sharp and Sammon up front, Adams on the left, that is a very strong forward four.

Said it elsewhere, but I've got a feeling Flynn will flourish under Adkins. He's one of our better crossers, and will now have two people to aim at. He's normally reliable in keeping possession, so the more expansive style Adkins is moulding the team in should suit that. And he can finish. He's less suited than JCR to a counter-attacking style, and less likely than him to stretch the opposition defence, but I reckon we'd see the best of him in an Adkins side.

That all said, JCR's earned his spot in the team, and as Woolford's got fitter we're starting to see what he can offer us too – Flynn is probably going to have to be quite patient for the time-being.

Enjoyed that Flynn/Brayford combination they complemented each other.
But I love seeing JCR tormenting these L1 defenders.
With Woodford and Done there's some interesting options

Depends if Brayford is playing right back. If he is then I'd play Flynn and encourage the beard to overlap, it's a much more balanced partnership giving options both ways, if not then JCR.
I'd also favour Flynn away from home over JCR but think at BDTBL, so long as he's in form, JCR should start.

I think Bob's got the right idea. Horses for courses. At times, NA will want to attack teams from the off and may feel JCR is the better option, bringing Flynn on late to shore things up.
Other times he may wish to be more patient and tighter, using JCR as an impact sub if needed, to act as an outlet ball to counter attack when teams are coming on to us to get a winner or an equaliser, or if we're behind.

I think Flynn still gets judged on his early performances when he could be anonymous but I thought he looked good under Clough most of the time and I think he'll do well under NA.

Agreed

indeed - and I presume that post is in favour of JCR then?

Not necessarily. I'm in favour of form over preference. I'm not convinced knowing your 'best' XI is all that important as it can leave you shoehorning players into a team. It's fun to do on paper, but I think as form can come and go I would pick a team of players fit and firing. JCR or Flynn, both fine with me.

I think in the modern game it's important to have options. You can't play the same way every week. There's so much information available on teams these days and cameras are at every ground so it's easy for the opposition to work you out and set up to stop you from playing. You need to be able to change it around a bit so, for example, if a team sets up to stop you playing out from the back, you can go long, if they try to stop you playing through the middle, you can go wide etc.

Start em both.
JCR on the right.
Flynny centre mid with Basham.

Can't they both play on the right wing at the same time? We don't really need a right back. :)

At present, I think it’s JCR’s place to lose. He’s playing well and deserves to keep his place in the side.

That being said, I can see a situation arising where he becomes the impact sub with Flynn as the regular started but Flynn’s just come back from injury and JCR is playing well. Makes sense to have Flynn eased back with sub appearances where he can try to impress enough to wrestle the shirt back from JCR. When Brayford comes back, the option of reuniting him and Flynn down the right side is a tantalising one though. Throw Done and Harris into the mix and we have plenty of good options down the flanks despite the loss of Murphy. That’s not to say that such a match-winner wouldn’t be welcome in the squad though.

On current form it's got to be JCR. However knowing JCR's inconsistency I'm sure Flynn will get plenty of chances to win his slot back when he fully recovers. Not a bad head ache to have for Adkins though.

Exactly. Questions about starting XIs and best players for certain positions are outmoded, anachronistic.

We need flexible, dynamic, creative, innovative, progressive, adaptable, 21st century football, and footballers.

Not one-eyed dinosaurs battling it out with cavemen.

Yeah, I agree in a football sense. But in reality our opinions mean diddely piss when it comes to the team being picked. This is a discussion forum and it's a bit of a laugh. If we can chat about who's the best chairman surely people can voice who they'd prefer to start on the right!

This Freedom of Expression malarkey also includes the right to be overanalytical and generally take things far too seriously.
