Rode our luck at times, but very good considering we didn't play the first team together.

McGoldrick could be capable of playing the lone striker role. He's developing into that sort of player - very impressively.
I'm glad McGoldrick is playing as the lone centre forward. The more practice he has doing that the better. He might be required to do it next season, and I can see him being capable of that role as he continues to evolve as a player.
I'm confident he'll be able to do the lone role if required - with the right support, at least.

Only watched the 2nd half.

Thought the match was pretty even, maybe a draw would have been fair.
Betis had more technical players that were falling down on the slightest contact.
But we look better drilled and more of a team.

Was impressed with Freeman and thought Lunny was effective and tigerish in midfield.
Made me think that maybe Lunny might be our Nick Montgomery, where he’s higher rated in the PL than in the lower divisions.
Fleck was in midfield but he tended to give away plenty of fouls, it was as though Fleck couldn’t make a clean tackle, their players didn’t want any contact.

The big positive for me is that Chris Wilder has his personality stamped all over the team, even in a friendly.
We defended as a team and attacked as a team, the defence in particular seemed determined not to concede.
We passed the ball around beautifully at times, in fact midway through that 2nd half there was a 10 minute spell where `Betis must have felt they were playing Barcelona, they simply couldn’t get the ball off us.

Great scoreline and good performance against decent opposition.
I kept thinking that I wouldn’t want to be watching Betis all season, much prefer the way we play.

Also thought I’d mention that Real Bettis averaged 44,142 last season.
And their last league game was a 2-0 win away at European Champions Real Madrid.

JOC was Motm for me. Like what was posted, a nice start for our preseason. Against very good opposition

Jags looks really sharp - his passing is quick and accurate and he’s winning all his heading challenges.
Caught out too slow/flat-footed and took a yellow to give a free-kick that fortunately they made a bollox of. However - as long as he sharpens up and loses the spare tyre it looks as though he could still do a decent job for us.

Moore motm for me, surprised me how good he was.

Most good things in attack second half came through Duffy and McGoldrick as per

Freeman and Sharp looked sharp first half

Glad O’Connell got up ok

Good job fleck doesn’t play in Spain, he’d be sent off every week.

They’re diving cunts.

Lundstrum looked good and aggressive. Might need to be careful in the prem.

L freeman looked a little off the pace I thought but he’ll get up to our speed.

They looked fit and the passing was confident.
