Any luck?
No mate the little camera icon was missing this time. I watched nearly every game last season. It can be a bit glitchy sometimes. I've watched some really good games from the balkans on there !!
Honestly there's some really good players there you can see why Italian clubs recruit there .

How many more pre seasons are we going to give Marsh
Really hope he’s given an opportunity this year, very much a late developer physically and hopefully this season he can push through. He’s got wonderful finishing ability, movement and great at taking it on the half turn between the lines. A lot of similarities to David Brooks.

Thought Blacker was good, playing multiple through balls. Could well challenge Arblaster for his place. Zatterstrom also looked a good player with some penetrating runs up the pitch to create opportunities. Both should be knocking on the door of a first team start based on this display, albeit against National League opposition.

Does anyone know what formation we played? Could they list the whole team out and where they played? Doesn’t seem obvious based on the team sheet for each half. (Eg always more than two strikers and no wingers on the pitch at any points.

Two lb’s each half on right wing! Glaring gap.
Hamer and Campbell look leaner.
Cooper made an excellent save late first half.
Oné is now huge.. looked so much bulkier!
Oli looks sharper already.

Hamer goal was immense.

Decent day out and beers in Three Pigeons recommended for any future visit.
Sounds like an encouraging first warm up match. Going to be really interesting to see if the likes of One, Baptiste and Zatter can save us some transfer fees. Also good to hear Blaster looked sharper, if he can get back to his previous development path hes going to be like signing a new, class, midfielder

I’d say a mediocre start. Very rusty al over the pitch, not surprisingly.

Oné wide left as per last pre season. Could’ve had four if sharper/fitter . Definitely a threat, agin like last pre season.

The two CB’s… not convinced they’ll be near the first team.

Oli … hopefully stays fit and sharp and can provide a few assists.

I’d say 4,4,1,1 first half and 4,4,2 second half.
So something like…

GK - Cooper
RB - Shackleton
RCB - Tanganga
LCB - Baptiste
LB - Burrows
RW - Giggs
CM - Arblaster
CM - Rothwell
LW - One
CAM - Marsh
ST - Cannon

GK - Davies
RB - Seriki
RCB - McGuiness
LCB - Zatterstrom
LB - McCallum
RW - McGlinchley
CM - Blacker
CM - Reidewald
LW - Hamer
ST - Bamford
ST - Campbell

?

Based on that need 4 wingers at least and a top 6 starting CB. Also thought Hamer wasn’t gonna play on the left. Another athletic CM needed if Peck goes.

Both halves were 4-4-2ish but it wasn't particularly rigid, particularly second half when Jairo sat deep, the fullbacks (and occasionally centre backs) pushed on and Hamer drifted inside. First half Marsh was often further forward than Cannon, who was making runs from deep, and although One was playing from the left, he made a few runs through the middle too.

Put Tanganga, Cooper and Arblaster into the second half side in place of Davies, McGuinness and Blacker and you'd have a pretty solid line-up, with right wing and centre back the obvious spots that need new signings and a toss up between Campbell, Cannon and O'Hare for the second central attacking spot.

Indeed it was a wonderful finish from 3 yards at the end of the first half.

Agree, does make the Brooks sale look worse if this is the plan though….

One is so direct, I love it. Same with Seriki. So was Brooks. We should be encouraging this but I'll be surprised if One and Seriki are still with us for the Birmingham game

I know it's pre-season but what the fuck, Gus looks even fatter than usual.

If he's been in the gym then somebody needs to tell him he should be lifting the weights and not eating them.

He's going to be about 50 stone a year or two after retirement. 😉🤣

Hamer looks leaner ? He's just wearing an XXL Shirt 😉
