I don't see what your point is here. You've given a link to an article by fucking JOE for one.

Highest weekly deaths since 1993, hardly a fucking sample since there's been fuckall pandemics in that period.

Ah you've dug in so deep you can't get out of the hole you are standing in. Got it now.

All I get is you fucking moaning and spreading doom every fucking day.

Sorry for posting official tolls that made you look a fool. Won't reply anymore to you. Hate it when threads go off topic.

There's been official tolls given since day 1....were they all correct?

No.

Grow up.

Stop being so stupid.

But some of these deaths aren't even from covid. This is where I'm struggling. Someone died of a heart attack last week, they were morbidly obese. Yet because they were found to have covid symptoms, their death was recorded as 'complications due to coronavirus'. This is why I say stats are being manipulated. If I fall down the stairs, crack my head open, lose 6 pints of blood and die but have got a bad cough, did I die from the fall or from 'complications cause by the Coronavirus'? Because the way things are going, every death is being registered as that alately.

Old people die every day and its always very sad when this happens. Every single death in a care home is Coronavirus-related.

It seems as though proper post-mortems arent being conducted any more. "Just stick covid on the certificate".

They may well have had covid symptoms, but it's not that that has killed some folk.

Although this graph is dramatic, it only shows a small snapshot in time. Until the data shows it against a full 12/24 months it’s not worth the keyboard it was wrote on.
All it shows is that a spike in deaths has occurred over a short period (I’m no scientist but I’m guessing that due to a bug that’s going around).
Now as we are all acutely aware, the most prominent demographic of the people it’s taking are the old with underlying health conditions. Now this group of people cannot die in the future. That’s why we use averages.
Hope this makes sense? It does to me.

Would that plan, or any plan, be in-line with government guidelines? If the government were to lift some measures would the FA do the same at the same pace? Or would they be allowed to go further?

It has to be in line with government guidelines. Premier league have to tread carefully to avoid any potential law suits. If the government put a stop to games that’s it.

According to Gov.co.uk 28,000 people died in the winter of 2014/15 from the flu. I don’t remember there being anything said about that.....

Gary Neville on Sky this morning suggests that both the EFL and Premier League take one off loans to cover all their clubs running costs for one year, with interests rates on the floor this could be paid back pretty quickly, and then pause for a year to resume next March as we are.

He also suggests that FIFPRO and the clubs agree one year extension on all players who’s contract expire in June and no transfer window until Summer 2021.

This makes sense to me.

And then sky tell Neville to fuckoff for the year unpaid.

Wonder what his opinion will be then.

If there was a strong hint we would absolutely have crowds back then like normal I'd snap arm off for that. The fact is there is no certainties

but it’s still the best option I’ve heard, I can’t see anyway that even the behind closed door option can work for many months.

What about players such as Leon Clarke, Ricky Holmes and Mark Duffy? We obviously don't want them after June, what do they do? They obviously can't find another club.

If they are released in June this year no EFL clubs are going to be signing anyone anyway with no income.

Exactly my point, you're basically forcing some players into retirement or leaving them with no income for a year.

There must be hundreds of players in League One and Two that are out of contract this summer, there is no way their clubs will extend their contracts with no income. These players won't be earning a huge wage and will struggle to find alternative work outside of football. How are they supposed to pay the mortgage/rent and other bills?

I'm sorry but Neville is talking out his arse, it's OK for him and Salford with billionaire Peter Lim picking up the tab for a year, but the rest of lower league clubs aren't going to want to take on more debt. How are they supposed to pay this debt off? Most will be making a loss or a modest profit at best, I fail to see how it can be paid off quickly.

You are missing the point about the loan that means the Premier League and EFL would pick up all the costs for the year not the clubs.

Fed up of hearing players and fans of relegation threatened clubs being the loudest in calling for the season to be scrapped. We’ve had players from Villa and Brighton on Talksport this morning saying it, and of course piggy Chris Twaddle.

All very vocal and seem to be making their voices heard louder than clubs who are fighting at the right end of the table.

Say what they like, it’s all about their own self interest. Nothing else and they shouldn’t pretend otherwise. It’s insulting and dishonest.

Apologies, misread your post.

I still don't see how this can work, you must be talking £3bn just to cover Premier League player's wages for 12 months, that's without the other running costs. The only way to pay this off is by reducing TV money payments to clubs, so they are going to be hit financially eventually.

I haven’t listened to TS since the football stopped. I just can’t see the point. They struggle to fill the day even when football’s being played. My alarm goes off, I hear Laura Woods and hit the off button.

There is literally fuck all chance of football resuming in June.

If every day we are been told we cant see our families and friends and have to maintain social distancing - how on earth will it look to the general population that we are letting 22 men kick a football about in close proximity? Surely if any of the public are then caught breaching the guidelines they'll have a valid argument to say well football players are allowed to congregate.

I to am dubious about the figures presented each day as someone has said earlier, if I presented my monthly stats and said, some data is from yesterday, some is from last week and some from last month but this is the data - I'd be sacked but it is what it is and its showing hundreds are dying so the Government have decided we all need to stay at home.

Exceptions to this will not be multi millionaire football players however much we want it to be so.

Because we're currently in April, not June?
