Exactly my point, you're basically forcing some players into retirement or leaving them with no income for a year.
There must be hundreds of players in League One and Two that are out of contract this summer, there is no way their clubs will extend their contracts with no income. These players won't be earning a huge wage and will struggle to find alternative work outside of football. How are they supposed to pay the mortgage/rent and other bills?
I'm sorry but Neville is talking out his arse, it's OK for him and Salford with billionaire Peter Lim picking up the tab for a year, but the rest of lower league clubs aren't going to want to take on more debt. How are they supposed to pay this debt off? Most will be making a loss or a modest profit at best, I fail to see how it can be paid off quickly.
