I think in the squad from today, there are only 2 names that I don't want anywhere near the squad and that is Grbic and Adam Davies. Neither (from any matches I have seen) look in anyway able to play a game for us.

Everyone else either has potential (pretty much everyone under the age of 25) or has a role to play in the squad.

It's very clear we aren't going to be a Wrexham or a Birmingham and just start throwing some money about.

What we seem to be doing is bringing in potential which hopefully across the season we can make better. Ukaki, caceres, our academy players, all look half decent.

Mccallum has some really good strengths (he's brave, he can jump like a grasshopper and he's fairly quick).

Really hoping that selles is what it appears he might be, someone who can coach and mould and improve players.

it was a strange 1st half. We could’ve easily been 4–0 up. Barry, Caceres, Hamer, and Ukaki were fantastic, and for a while it looked far too easy. But somehow, we ended up clinging on in the final 10 minutes just to make sure we didn’t go in 3–2 down.

There were some really sloppy defensive decisions, and this season we might end up being a bit Kevin Keegan great going forward, but dodgy at the back. as When our passing clicked, we opened these teams up with ease. But when it didn’t, we were left wide open, as we saw with Chesterfield’s first goal.

I love Wilder. & yes, it’s only pre-season, but from what I’ve seen both in highlights & live I think the deeply unpopular decision might actually have been the right one. Wilder’s a fan at heart, & if the club is successful, you can be sure he’ll be just as pleased as the rest of us.

I didn't see today but I also know we cant write off players because of one game. He might have been terrible today, he isn't a terrible player. Last year, Burrows was clearly our number one left back. I don't expect that to change but mcCallum did OK in games last year.

And again, can Selles take players like McCallum and coach them and make them better.

I like the lad, but that’s 2 pre-season games I’ve been to and he’s been awful in both (against League 1 & 2 players)

Yes, but it was the big fat Saudi that sold him down the line. With the current owners it could have been something special. These are the new owners who agreed to spend 10 million on Cannon. Far too much negativity kicking around on here despite 4 out of 4 pre season.( Have a look at some of the other championship teams pre - season games and some have taken a pasting west brom etc/.
This is experiment time to gauge who is good enough and not good enough and which positions require new signings.
The new board want and demand promotion, Selles knows that, and also knows that he will be judged accordingly by his employers and fans alike !

I just pointed out that he’s a decent player, just unfit. You’re not wrong though, he’s a waste of wages unless he’s fit.

I’ll give them a bit longer but if the standard of football and our chances of promotion are non existent then I’ll start banging on.

In relation to the standard of football, 95% of the posts on here last season were totally critical of wilder and his boring 1.0 win tactics. Would you be happy to win 5.4 and also when do you demand promotion is sealed by 🤔

Only my opinion, but some on here are still fuming about them showing Wilder the door, and with some I get the impression that there waiting for Selles to fall flat on his face! That's how sad some of the twats are.

Happy to win 5v4 but not lose 3v2 and end up mid table. I think that’s a reasonable response

Your reply is absolutely spot on T J, and the sad twats that want Selles to fail because of their obsession with a " HAS BEEN" should never step inside Bramall Lane again. Who do you support, Sheffield United, or a "HAS BEEN" ? Really starting to piss me off!

I would argue that the saddest twats of all, are those who are utterly unable to appreciate the achievements and contributions to the club of Sheffield United legends, and spend their time sneering at, and pouring scorn on those legends, instead of having the maturity, and generosity of spirit, to both appreciate past Sheffield United legends, and fully support those currently in post in the hope that they, too, will go on to become future club legends.

I don't agree that the new board demand promotion. They certainly want promotion but there has been no suggestion that they are demanding it this season. That's come from fans. The club have said that they want to change and modernise the club and that this may require patience. That suggests the opposite, that promotion may have to wait for the season after this one or beyond.
