You don’t think we will spend more than 12m in fees?If Man City want 12 million we will not be able to afford him or we would need to sell.

It doesn’t sound very encouraging, like you stated we’re going into the richest league in the world, yet we haven’t got a penny to spend got to rely on loans and freesBloody hell. Reading this thread anybody would think we've just been relegated and have to cut our cloth accordingly by keeping cheaper players and selling our best. We've just got promoted to the richest league in the world and as such will be a very attractive proposition for the majority of up-and-coming players both in the UK and Europe. Going with Sharp, Stevens, and Osborn isn't the solution here.
We’ll be ok with Fleck Norwood and OsBornSorry such is life.

If our total budget is 20m I’d be amazed. You don’t think we will spend more than 12m in fees?
So after getting most things wrong on the take over you now know the budget carry on like this i am going to have to make you a tin foil hatNever said that. Read the thread and it’s self explanatory. If you have a budget do you blow it on a couple of players?
Awaiting more incoming. You can do better than that surely. So after getting most things wrong on the take over you now know the budget carry on like this i am going to have to make you a tin foil hat
Absolute rubbish. We' d pay 12m for Doyle at the drop of a hat, we paid nearly twice that for Brewster ffs. That would be a great investment with the chance of making money on him in the future (dependent on any City buyback clause) and he'd be perfect if we go straight back down.If Man City want 12 million we will not be able to afford him or we would need to sell.
I’m talking rubbish and you are right. Enjoy the rest of the day knowing I nearly fooled you but didn’t.Absolute rubbish. Last time we came up we spent 60m on 3 players, you are saying we don't have the wherewithal to spend half of that this time around? The only thing thst stops us is any wrangling over the takeover but even if the Prince stays I'd guess he will be willing to spend at least half of what we did last time
You what?I’m talking rubbish and you are right. Enjoy the rest of the day knowing I nearly fooled you but didn’t.
Unfortunately I can’t see is spending 12m on one player this time around. Until we get taken over I’m not sure there’s much to play with.Absolute rubbish. Kemar Roofe isn’t a bad shout imo - he’d be cheap as he comes with the injury riskWhich championship goal scorer can you get for less than 10 m now? Who would that player replace? What has this player done over the last few years that you believe would improve our current forwards?
I think u will be surprised. Promotion is worth over 150m including parachute payments, I'm sure we will spend at least half of what we did last time. Time will tellUnfortunately I can’t see is spending 12m on one player this time around. Until we get taken over I’m not sure there’s much to play with.
Thanks, at last! I thought it was just me that held these views. I have no doubt they'll be in the squad next season & as per Fleck in the recent games will give everything.Nonsense. Norwood had the best stats out of any midfielder for the first half of the season. Fleck recently played against City at Wembley and didn’t look out of place. As for Sharp he may not have scored as many goals as he would have liked but has led the line brilliantly. His work rate and closing and mobility at the top of the pitch is far superior to Mcburnies. They have had all had plenty of minutes in this promotion winning team to earn a new contract. Then there’s the influence they have on the lads coming in. They won’t let standards drop.
Last time we didn't have the numerous high-interest bridging loans and other debt. Players would have been on lower wages, and would have received lower promotion bonuses. This year it's been costing a fortune to pay salaries and keep the club running, and the club has gone into a lot of debt to meet these costs. Obviously we need to strengthen, and I'm sure we'll see new players coming in. But we won't be paying any fees similar to those paid for Brewster / Berge / McBurnie.I think u will be surprised. Promotion is worth over 150m including parachute payments, I'm sure we will spend at least half of what we did last time. Time will tell
As much as that or as little as that?If our total budget is 20m I’d be amazed.
I'd be shocked if we spend £50 million and that would include loan fees/sign-on fees.I think u will be surprised. Promotion is worth over 150m including parachute payments, I'm sure we will spend at least half of what we did last time. Time will tell
Always options.... You can let the kids play or you can pick up players on the free.No other option
I suspect one reason for taking up the 12 month option (Fleck, Stevens, Foderingham, Norwood & McBurnie) would be that no agent or signing on fee would be needed?I'd be shocked if we spend £50 million and that would include loan fees/sign-on fees.
We need to offer about 15 contracts for a start. All those of sign-on and agent fees. Wages will be going up significantly. We've got heaps of debt and lots of infrastructure stuff will need sorting.
They've not all got options and haven't some already been triggered.I suspect one reason for taking up the 12 month option (Fleck, Stevens, Foderingham, Norwood & McBurnie) would be that no agent or signing on fee would be needed?
I believe the five I've listed have. Robinson, Osborn & Sharp haven't as they were triggered last year? They've not all got options and haven't some already been triggered.
I know McBurnie has. Not sure about the others. Did we give Sharp 1 + 1? I don't even know who has the option on the options.I believe the five I've listed have. Robinson, Osborn & Sharp haven't as they were triggered last year?
I get the financial logic, but if they are way off what we need to have a chance of being remotely competitive then what's the point?I suspect one reason for taking up the 12 month option (Fleck, Stevens, Foderingham, Norwood & McBurnie) would be that no agent or signing on fee would be needed?
If the old guard weren't here for the last few seasons would anybody be suggesting picking them up on a free for the PL?
Only McBurnie has an option, not sure where I've read it though. Robinson, Osborn and Sharp triggered there's last year.I know McBurnie has. Not sure about the others. Did we give Sharp 1 + 1? I don't even know who has the option on the options.
Billy on a free to come on for last few mins if needed ?? Yes I would depending on budgetIf the old guard weren't here for the last few seasons would anybody be suggesting picking them up on a free for the PL?

We have potentially just saved ourselves from going into Admin next season, realistically where are you going to find someone of that poaching ability for cheap
No problem. It’s not just us. Most fans I speak to are realistic and understand we don’t have a pot to piss in and won’t be replacing half of a promotion winning squad. Then there’s people on here who think it’s football manager and we’ll get Tommy Doyle back for 12million and sign Liverpools reserve GK + 10 other signings. Thanks, at last! I thought it was just me that held these views. I have no doubt they'll be in the squad next season & as per Fleck in the recent games will give everything.
