If we win 1-0 today, that has to be a minimum of 12 goal difference. Do you think Leeds can make up a 12 goal difference in 2 games?
I don't.
Yes it's "mathematically possible" but it's not happening mate, trust me. Remember though this is all about if we win today, not if we draw today, or lose today.
I also think that a win today will mean promotion. I am very sure of it, but just to point out that if Leeds beat Villa by one more than we beat Ipswich, then we have a mare at Stoke - an early sending off, out of sorts, lose 3-0. Leeds will have to go to Ipswich and score 6 or 7. Consider that they will know that's their only chance, that they will be instructed to camp in the opposition box and shoot and shoot and shoot - and it's against Ipswich, it isn't impossible. (No, I don't think it will happen).
The solution to it is that we beat Ipswich by at least 3 goals, which I hope we do, there's no reason we can't.
It's actually an outpouring of joy and emotion and a tribute from the fans to the players,
It generally isn't though, that's a very romanticised take on it. An invasion - a proper invasion as opposed to going onto the pitch after the game has finished - is a carryover from the old days when ninety odd percent of supports were blokes, PC hadn't been applied to the chants and hooligans were still a part of the scene. We're nostalgic about those times and running on the pitch to celebrate is one of the better things. But we can't manage to do it in a way that everyone finds acceptable, times have changed. We can't separate out the knobs, so people don't want the version that we get - nor do the authorities, nor does the club. That the club doesn't want it should be enough for everyone.
and it's happened on many occasions over the years, not just when we've been promoted. It's never caused a problem. No one has got hurt, or banned, as a result of it. The club haven't been fined over it or had points deducted.
Are you sure about that? No one ever been hurt? No one ever been banned? The EFL are not going to continue to forbid it, have that instruction ignored, time and time again, and not do something about it. One day they will. One day one club's set of fans will have their dreams devasted - it will probably involve a fan punching a referee or something stupid. Do you really trust all the Blades who have a mind to run on the pitch that not one of them would do something that stupid - for the kudos with his mates?
