We shouldn't be dominating we have to earn it. This board have chucked a Hell of a lot of money at it to for us to earn that right. They want the same as us. don't punish them for the past fuck ups. I'm guessing you wanted Blackwell, Wilson out, clough out ?? No instant success so let's force em out? Let's build something and earn the right to dominate.

This "set up" has had 3 years to build a progressive transfer/player policy that could continue dependant on whether the coach changes. It hasn't and we are getting out performed both on and off the pitch by Burton, Walsall, Gillingham and Coventry City
The plan was there from season 1, sign the division's best players and play direct attacking football, The Pigs did it, Wolves did it, Bristol City did it, Wigan are doing it, this club has never done this, it constantly tries to sign players from reserve teams in the Championship or Premier League, neither of those divisions are the division we find ourselves in.
We are on course for another year in League One, have we progressed in the last 3 years?

It does not surprise me that Jim has had a flounce and launched his rattle that is what he does in my experience. Earlier in the season I think it could have been after Colchester gave us a football lesson at the lane I wrote my thoughts on Jim's facebook page, no swearing, no abuse and nothing personal. I can only assume Jim didn't like or agree with my thoughts on the state of the club as next morning I found I was no longer on his friends list. Jim only seems to like to engage with the people who suck up to him and constantly tell him what a fine job he and the rest of the board are doing keeping this fine club treading water in league one.I tend to agree with everything you've said, but I think tagging Jim in the tweet is being seen as provocation. He's had a bit of a flounce though, which surprises me - maybe he's getting to the end of his tether !
I think us Brits are far less tolerant of his kind of bullshit spin. All hot air. If we actually saw promises being honoured and actual promised investment in the team being made, he may get an easier ride. There will always be idiots on twitter regardless though.
It was a bit of sarcasm from a fanThe kind of shit that gets thrown his way shouldn't be happening, whether he is full of bullshit spin or not. It's vile and totally out of order. The people that do it are a total embarrassment to this club, and all its sensible, non scummy fans.

It was me that Jim had the meltdown with earlier.
I sent a bit of sarcastic tweet at the end of today's match implying we had beaten a divisional powerhouse (this is after NA spent all week calling 2nd bottom Colchester dangerous ffs) and that I bet Jim is mega proud.
The Co-Chairman of our football club replied with:
"I am sure I don't deserve your silly abuse, pal. I'm glad to get the 3 points. Let's build a run of form. #onwards"
I replied with a calm and rational reply of:
"You're the chairman of a massively underachieving football club, change that and the digs might stop #youarenotmypal
Then rather than engage me in a civilised conversation he began to make out he was being continually abused personally.
So I sent him a private message to take things away from the public spotlight and to build a more calm conversational platform to maybe exchange opinions and dialogue.
Me "I see you don't reply when I make a reasoned come back. The word abuse is questionable also, you really should be a little more thick skinned if you are to continue to engage with a large disgruntled fanbase. The way your consortium has run the club over the last few years needs to be constantly questioned. We are not progressing in any way and you seem to be fine with that."
Jim "No it is not questionable. Your behaviour is moronical"
Me "Moronical? I'd say letting a club of SUFC's size fester in this division with a bloated squad paying wages to 34 Year Old journeymen and selling every bit of talent we have, is slightly more moronic than send the odd mocking tweet your way. You're a grown man in charge of a club with highly emotional local ties, expect some mocking if you are not achieving. If you don't either leave, change your ethos or close your account."
So there you go, the full story.
I've left the part out when he went on an ego massaging exercise, for the next 3 hours, conversing only with people who called him great and thanked him for being on twitter.
While you're on, and I've been wanting to ask someone this for ages.
Why do people like you tag Jim Phipps in tweets about football? I've seen a lot do it and it never makes sense to me.
And as much as I have issues with our board, your first tweet and consequent reply was incredibly twattish.
Perhaps he's frustrated with our plight and that's his way of letting those at the club know?
Missed this last night .. thankfullyMaybe it is just the start of Jim and the Prince distancing themselves from the club, one thing is for sure it looks like the game changing investment has dried up.
There isThe only trouble with social media is it makes people think that their opinion is worth something, when in actual fact it's not. There should be some sort of block that lets the poorly educated view only.
As I recall he eventually got his hair cut.I read a story once about a striker who played under Barry Fry (a black player who had a pineapple haircut Jason Lee I think) who was getting abuse of fans for his 'pineapple' head!
He went to complain to Barry Fry who said
"You can do 2 things to stop the abuse, start scoring goals or get your hair cut "
Using this anology on Phipps/Board and the abuse they can do 2 things to stop it.
A) Sling their hook
B) get us promotion
Simple really![]()
