image.jpeg Who are the worst strikers you have seen playing for the blades?
This lad Pedro Verde has got to be up there with the worst of them.

Sammon for sure.

Craig Beattie was shocking.

Luton Shelton was poor considering his fee.

And apart from that goal, Akinbyi...plus Horsefield from the same era.

Akiniyi wasn't £3.5 million worth of footballer but definitely "got us over the line" (whatever that means)

The worst for me...

Craig Beattie, who while he had movement to create a chance was one of the worst finishers I've seen.

David Johnson, who I was really looking forward to seeing play but seemed a shadow of his previous self in his brief loan spell.

Barry Hayles, who while his career before and after showed he was decent, was just appalling in the small number of games he played.

Andy Campbell, whose pace meant he could get opportunities but he was all pace and nothing else – awful finisher.

Marcus Bent v2 probably tops the lot, on the basis that his outright shitness probably had the most damaging effect compared to the rest mentioned above.

I like old Luton

Campbell wasn't bad. For the worst I think I've seen....step forward Paul Williams the Irish lad who was beyond awful.

I once saw him trying to score from about 3 yards out in front of the kop, ball fairly stationary and it was the proverbial tap in. The lad managed to miss the ball, spin himself round and fall flat on his arse with no one within 10 yards of him. It might have cost us goal but sometimes you just have to appreciate that you have just witnessed something special, even if this special event was special in a spectacularly bad sense. To a man every one on the kop pissed themselves laughing.

Ive seen some tripe in my time watching the Blades and Barry Butlin and a good few others were total bollox, but our Paul takes the honours imo. Utter wank he was.

Forte and Poleon were pretty awful for us. Though naturally both looked better when playing for the opposition.

But Ian Rush was about as crap as I've ever seen. He was past it to the extent that Dean Hammond was, but he had the added bonus not really wanting to be out there.

Who was the guy Steve Davies we had a couple of seasons ago, managed to head wide from about 2 feet in front of the kop?
