Danny Hall been on today with leaked news about CW getting a new contract this month.
I thought these new owners would be better at keeping things confidential and plugging the leaks.
Let them get the transfers & loans sorted this month.
Plenty of time in February or later to sort something for CW.

IF new owners are going to improve the way we operate , they need time to decide on what they see as Wilder's remit - no point them offering a new contract on the old job description if it might change in line with any management structural changes they want to make.

The time to change Wilder's areas of responsibility (eg putting scouting , recruitment , Academy etc under a Director of Football and asking him to concentrate on coaching , First Team management , opposition analysis , match preparation , matchday duties etc) - if there are to be changes - is BEFORE he's offered a new contract.

We've heard nothing yet from the owners on what , if anything , they want to change in the running of the club.
This may have happened/be happening, why would they need to come out and tell us?

Good point - they don't.

But in their introduction letter to fans , they did say they'd be getting back in touch at some stage with more news on their plans.

I'm happy to wait for them and would prefer not to have Danny Hall speculating on CW's contract based on leaks from people at the club. That's not fair to CW.

I think it's more based on comments from CW himself about ongoing negotiations, plus the fact he's well known to be in the last 6 months of his contract, it doesn't take much 'speculation'.

If we're looking to sign players on permanent deals this month, it can only help the negotiations if the manager is signed up too, even if for 12 months. It will instil greater confidence that there is a longer term plan beyond May and promotion / non-promotion.

I’d agree it’s unfair, but a lot of the leaks prior to now have come from his own inner circle

Ok.
Anyway , he's been directly asked about it in today's presser and tried to stop further unnecessary gossip ,by saying
"it'll take care of itself , it's in the hands of my representatives"
(Ie: please don't ask again)
"My priority is the the work I'm doing"

There is nothing to see here ,
it's a man's private contract with his employer.
Nothing to concern us fans.
I hope the media lay off the subject.
No way is he leaving us with the promotion job unfinished.
Not from his pov nor the owners pov.

On the other hand , the January window is justifiably of great interest.
Success in it will probably be the difference between autos & playoffs.

They've said how pleased they are with our position achieved with a total rebuild with freebies , kids & loans. It's obvious they're going to get him tied down to SUFC with a long contract.

The old Wilder traits are coming to the fore once again, is he looking for the back door already? WTF was that line up and tactics today, just WTF was it? Does Wilder think he is some sort of tactical genius? Clear to everyone watching he isn't, we didn't look like half a team until we had to make 3 subs, phucking rubbish Wilder.

And on R/S interview he was throwing the players under the bus. Not playing to plan. Like there was a plan to play one in midfield with Choudhury playing centre half?

How the hell he thought it was a good idea to start the second half with the same team I do not know.

Hopefully he’s learned something from today

I'm just wondering how he's going to balance the Chrissy Wilder Galaticos when based on today Peck, McCallum and Brewster are x1000 more effective than BBD, Cannon and Chaudery....

That's the corner he's backed himself into. He's got all the players he wanted, and now has to manage their and our expectations. With the team/squad we now have, there's no excuses.

are you pleased by todays performance?
No I didn’t enjoy today’s performance at all, I commented on the new players thread saying I think he’s thrown too many of the new players in together too quickly. So yes I do think that’s a mistake Wilder has made, do I on the whole think he’s done a great job this season and deserved a new deal?, yes I think he has.
