Who is our worst player to have made 100 appearances?

I get this vibe with some people, where if you think Jack Robinson is a good championship footballer...it is the equivalent of being some vaccine guzzling herd following sheeple, cowering in the fear of global warming...except rather than science and the UN, you are one the unenlightened masses, blindly fooled by the sight of a hard tackle and a fist pump. I do really like the Blades Ramble for example, but his whole take on Robinson is getting very Pompey/Norwood....like it's not a debate, there are those who can see the truth and those who can't....Anyway the correct answer for those who can't see it is the last 100 games of Bobby Ford...

What about Micky Mills, Paul Mariner Phil Neal who all played for England just short of 100 times.

Glenn Hoddle 56 caps = criminal
Your memory fails you

Hoddle 53 caps
Neal 50 caps
Mills 42 caps
Mariner 35 caps

Monty! Fucking terrible excuse for a footballer. Other teams used to pass in triangles just to watch the clueless fucker run round and round and round in circles like a dog chasing its tail. Apparently Frank Lampard and Patrick Vieira were overheard in Linekers Bar laughing about how shit he was 😉

UTBFTP 👊👊👊
I bet he scored more than your pal Rhian

On the back of a shoutbox question I asked, and given that JLT has made over 100 appearances for United despite being utter dog turd. I want to know which cheeky little scamp has managed to pull the wool over a managers eye's so much he can be rightly said to be our worst ever player with more than 100 appearances for us to his name?

Link of a list of all players with more than 100 appearances is below:

I'm saying JLT gets an honourable mention, but he's no Ryan Flynn or Michael Doyle. For number of appearances to shitness ratio, our very own traffic cone takes some beating, but Monty has some nostalgic wonderment to him and his complete lack of football ability so he gets a pass from me (which he would then mis control or boot down the line for Nuddy) so it's not him.

I think overall Doyle gets my vote for our worst.

Over

Over to you.

To describe Jack Robinson as “utter dog turd “ is disgusting , misguided and totally unwarranted in equal measure .

Since the man walked through the door of our club he has never given less than 100% and put in some excellent performances .

In our last disastrous season in the PL he was often given the accolade of being our best defender and rightly so and, as the season progressed , was one of the few players who didn’t let his head drop and passively give in to the opposition.

Whilst I think that the general idea of your post is quite a good one I would like to think that on reflection , you would like to withdraw that comment .

If not , I hope at least that you don’t feel proud of yourself for making it .

Round and round and round he went. Talentless, splay footed twat I do believe.
Anyone who plays football in a way where his 1st touch is that bad that his 2nd touch is always a 30:70 tackle should be lauded forever! I bet the Spurs players all want to be like Monty now 🤣

I used to manage a kids team and him and Jags would come and kick a ball about on the next pitch to us. Monty would blam it at Jags, who'd run onto the misplaced pass, control it and kick it back. The ball would bounce off varying parts of the talentless ones anatomy and off he'd go like a demented puppy trying to get to the ball before it rolled down the nearly embankment. Over and over again, truly painful when the 9 year old Pig fans in my team were rolling about laughing at the fact he 'played' for us.

Warnock used to lock him in a cage all week and not feed him, then on Friday he put a used jockstrap from his upcoming opponent in for him get the scent. Fact

The record state that Dean Hammond made 30 appearances in which he was utter gash, but I'm giving him the nod for the hundreds of unseen appearance that he made.

I don’t hate him at all. The fact he missed that pen is neither here nor there to me. He was capable of great saves too.

But in the relegation season there were numerous games where the opposition scored with their first attempt and the team deflated in front of our eyes. And the fact a 17 year Long dislodged him for a while in L1 tells the story there.

The keepers we had between Paddy and Moore were a huge part of our decline.
100% right. Simon Moore was a key signing in stopping the rota.

I don't doubt his commitment, I will never give him anything but 100 percent cent backing from the stands but I think he's a really poor footballer.

I think my OP is an interesting debate and my use of language in the post, if you look at my other examples is quite obviously tongue in cheek. I have used a non-swearing metaphor to describe a millionaire footballer who I think is rubbish on an obviously over the top style post.

It's not a defamation of his character, it's not using any ultra offensive wording and it's in fitting with the context of the style of OP. If you are offended by the use of language of some blumbering fool on a football message board (that's me) then apologies but I'm not going to withdraw it or feel some sense of self loathing because I've used a common metaphor using dog crap to describe someone being rubbish at something.

And as others have said, the correct answer in a few weeks will be Rhian Brewster.

I don't understand all the hate for simonsen , he kept 15 clean sheets in the regular season, 3 clean sheets in 3 games in playoffs and saves 2 penalties in a shoot out , but because the regular penalty takers were wank we end,up at sudden death and yes he skied his effort but he's a keeper he's not meant to be taking penalties and I'd say he probably very rarely practiced them , in the same way if we had put a striker in goal we would probably would have lost in the regular shootout as he wouldn't have saved the 2 simonsen saved
Disagree. He were wank.

I'm embarrassed 😘
Usually quite diligent. That'll teach me to go on heresy & not do the research.
I'm just going to put my sack vest on & offer myself up for a couple of days whipping with a thorny branch😱😱

Steve Charles has to be in contention. Played in the famous relegation team to division 4 and never looked better than average at that level.

People calling out premier league players haven't seen the dark days

Agreed Simonsen should never have been put in that position. How TF do you lose a penalty shoot-out when the opposition don't score any of their first 3?
Blame Williamson, Lowton or Taylor (who was brought on specifically for penalties IIRC).

Doyle and Collins shared award.

2 of the main reasons we dropped to League One. 2 of the main reasons we stayed there so long.

No idea why Doyle seems to get a pass from some just because of his cockney walk, funny as it was.
As Silent alluded to I got the impression those two were leading figures in a set of players who were happy to reign it in and keep picking up a pay cheque in league one. If we got promoted they were out on their arses.

Both were shite anyway.

John MacPhail for giving away the penalty that dumped us in the forth division.

I think there was far worse in the team with him at the time but I'm surprised Richard Cresswell hasn't had at least a mention on here.

Collins scored more for us in league 1 than Cresswell did!

Can't give it to Doyle. Not after his Lambeth Walk!

As I can go back over half a century it has to be oh no Frank Barlow. Found his level in the lower leagues with Chesterfield. Crazy that Monty is even considered for this. Always gave 100%. You need his type of player to allow the more skillful players to perform.
I go back further and totally agree about Monty, he worked so hard to effectively break up opposition attacks.

Shout out for Paul Garner. The only regular in our descent from division 1 to Division 4 in 6 years.

Steve Simonsen for me. A very solid provider of gash performances, with an emphatic penalty miss as the icing on the incredibly shitty cake
Thanks for reminding me of him I still have nightmares every time I pass Wembley I look upto th skies thinking I am going to see a ball taking off into orbit 🤣
