Well said the Kop experience is quite unique well it used to be, when we were in 4th division I treat myself don't know why to an ST in South Stand. I missed the kop though and when it's in full voice is a magical place.

I have been on the Kop for 60 years, I travel up to Sheffield from Bristol every other week to support my team. A round trip of 7 hours or a £150 hotel bill if I choose to stay over. As you say, the Kop is a magical place and I don't want to be "put" anywhere else.

Not wanting to get into an argument, honest, but people have all sorts of preferences, and if these can be met, so much the better. I have explained on another thread that I went in the South Stand last night, and I can see why plenty of people prefer it. But I always like to be as close as possible to the 'real' action, the goals scored and the goals prevented. I really regretted not being behind Moore when he made the great double penalty save - I am sure from behind the goal that would have been a 'wow' moment, given that it looked a decent penalty, and the skill in saving it appeared to be enormous. I prefer to experience those moments from the best view possible. We are all different.

Only two stands open. So rather than watch the team, have a strop online.

Using your own terminology of "spunking money left right and centre" could you please explain why our club didn't do so for 75% of our matches in L1 when we could certainly have done with the money and were playing in front of sub-20k crowds?

I said "shut a stand", i,e, any. In fact, thinking back the Lane end could have been shut and the lights turned off for the entire of our spell in L1 and no one would have noticed.

By upgrading I meant for free, as in a flight ticket.

The club clearly had an idea of the attendance probability. They were right.

As a civil - more like uncivil these days - engineer, l'd have thought you'd realise we'd struggle with logistical problems getting 18/19 thousand fans in two stands. To take it further beyond your comprehension, seasonticket planning would be a nightmare and people wanting to keep their kids from sitting next to angry persons such as yourself could well not go if there was no family stand.

You really need to think things through rather than act immediately you believe you see a chance to have a go.

Seen anyone Chinese at the Lane yet, or more left field, ever spoken to another Blade you don't know at a game? Been to any nice reception areas?

I will not sit on the John Street Stand unless I absolutely have to (or if I take my daughter). And even then it would be kicking and screaming. The South is better, but I'm a kop man. I bought tickets for last night but chose not to go. Wanted the points.

Ricky is right, closing the kop makes it seem like less of a competitive game. I don't think Man U close sections off when they play early cup games.
