It won’t be Oliver Norwood. He’ll sign for Hull. And why is it that Wigan call at 5pm deadline day and get the deal done by hook or crook, but we are always left stewing. A lot can happen between now and Monday - I can foresee another grumpy CW interview.

We won't lose him to Hull City, they're in reyt shambles. The Brighton local paper said it wasn't Hull or Leeds that Norwood is going to, and they were to two linked clubs., until we were linked.

Is it today?? Fingers crossed!

It would be excellent signing - exactly the sort to improve the squad and one that would mean we aren’t under pressure to rush coutts back before he’s ready (which would be the worst thing we could do)

He’s played for 2 promoted sides in the last 2 years - clearly fits wilder ‘top end’ championship players.

Wilder said there would be nobody in until Monday

Ideally I’d like to see us sell Evans and bring in Norwood. Evans would interest Wigan surly! Add an extra 750k and we could get Norwood.

Saying that don’t think Brighton want to deal with us after we keep rejecting the JoC bids.
Seems relatively prophetic at the moment :)

In the last couple of weeks when we read we are up against, boro, Leeds or derby we tend to accept we cannot compete on fee and salary but Hull? HULL? I wont be taking just my shoes off, the socks are coming off as well, you have been warned Chris.

Of course we won’t, but it’s an opportunity to knock our own club and every such opportunity has to be taken. If he does come to the Lane there’ll be no acknowledgement; no retraction. We simlply move in to the next cheap, ill-informed jibe.

It’s the Bladesfans’ Way.’

But they have parachute payments still - so if the motivation is money then they are still a choice.

Also Norwood played for Madkins while at Reading.

Depends if he wants to play in the arena or in front of a proper crowd. If he likes the room for improvement or straight talking with no added bollocks.

Alan Nixon just tweeted one of the loans due to sign is Norwood. Happy days!!

A midfield trio of Norwood, Fleck & Coutts is as good as it gets in this league. Chuck Duffy into the mix too and we're strong there.

Hull might want him but I would be amazed he'll go there over us, with or without Adkins. Besides, The Brighton local said it wasn't Hull that Norwood was going to. If he goes to Hull then I would be surprised, but you never know in football.

I guess the most important factor would be first team football.

Thought he said one or two by Monday, which I see as any time up to Monday

As long as they find their way to the Lane, I can wait a day or two

How things would change on this board if we nicked 3 points at QPR today, knowing we've got 2 - 3 players arriving imminently

Norwood is pretty strong defensively and is a better, quicker passer than Lunny and Evans. Decent at set pieces as well.

If we can get him instead of Leeds - delighted with that.

Took this from link above. Very critical of him playing in a 3 man midfield but glowing in a 4 man midfield

At first, it looked like Oliver Norwood’s addition to the Fulham squad was going to be an unmittigated disaster. No performance stood out more than his performance full of wayward passes in the club’s embarrassing League Cup defeat to Bristol Rovers. Add in the fact that there was no choice but to start the Northern Ireland International when Tom Cairney was dealing with his knee issues and it was looking like Fulham were in a world of hurt.

But once Cairney returned to full fitness and Norwood was used in his proper position, a fourth midfielder best suited to provide more defensive cover and give Cairney and Johansen rest during the gruelling Championship season, then everything fell into place for the club’s campaign. His defense was truly outstanding as he was the team leader in defensive contributions (combined tackles and interceptions) per 90 minutes at 3.78 and he lead all Fulham players in interceptions at 1.60 per 90 minutes.

But that doesn’t mean some of his attacking play went unnoticed either. His 1.68 key passes per 90 minutes was fourth among Fulham players behind StefJo, Cairney and Matt Targett and a handful of his goals were required throughout the course of the season. None stood out more than the penalty he converted to break a 0-0 draw at Middlesbrough. His most colossal display came in the come-from-behind madness that was the 4-1 win over Ipswich at Craven Cottage where Norwood assisted on Aboubakar Kamara’s goal (that turned out to be the game-winning goal), took three shots and completed six tackles.
