The ITK poster Richard Cadette stated this as likely to happen yesterday on the movement thread. I know these ITK's can be wide of the mark but it seems possible.

Got everything including my nuts crossed that we get some good loans in, but i'm feeling rather pessimistic.

Anyone thought that we may have a better player than Evans lined up and that's why we swat the dummy out and fucked off?

Oh sorry I forgot it was Sheffield United ;)

Yesterday there was talk of Hull landing him on a permanent deal which seemed a bit of a crap move, and how Leeds had lost out to Hull. He would be a definite upgrade on Evans and Lundstram and surely a starter. He's also out of contract at the end of this season so that would be promising should he do well to sign him up permanently.

Brighton local news says he's heading to a Championship club, but not Leeds or Hull.

It'll probably be Derby or Boro now!

He's described as
"a Central Midfielder, known for his passing and ability to dictate tempo.
He is renowned as a free-kick and set piece specialist and for scoring goals from long range."
Wow, I don't know which part of that we need the most!!

Oliver Norwood is a quality player and one we should definitely be looking at. Played in a very good passing team with Fulham last season.

Norwood and Fleck with Duffy or Woodburn in front would be a great midfield

He's played in two promoted teams in recent seasons and best bit is out of contract at the end of this season so he'll be on a free - I presume.

Funniest thing I have read on here in a long-long time.

Only thing that sentence has in common with Evans is that he scored one goal from long range...the rest bears no resemblance to Evans whatsoever.

Believe me, that's exactly how Lee Evans would be described. He might not have been at his best for the Blades but he's a very tidy player who keeps the tempo ticking over and has a wicked right foot for corners.

Either way, clearly S24SU isn't that funny.

That's how Evans would be described if he wasn't called Lee Evans and was called Oliver Norwood.....or any other midfielder with a modicum of ability...

Evans is not good enough or Doasnt fit with how we want to play.
Wilder is always asking for bravery on the ball,Evans I'm afraid Doasnt know the meaning of the word as he chickened out numerous times to Wilder disgust I watched his reaction a number of times
and you could see he wasn't pleased.
Wilder will not say out right how he feels .as picking out individuals for critism is not his way and he's gone now anyway

Each to their own.
You've got two proper midfielders as your profile so you clearly know your stuff, I just think Evans was beyond inconsistent. As for keeping the tempo up I think he did the complete opposite.
Anyway we all see things differently and he's gone now

So in short Lee Evans was Coutts lite and we are potentially replacing him with Norwood who is Cairney lite? OK I'd accept that lol

Well there has to be a plan, when we were doing well we did so because we controlled midfield in most games.
Since Coutts injury we haven’t managed anywhere near the same control, and early this season it seems to have been a recurring issue.
So I hope Evans had been given the heads up by Wilder it wasn’t good enough and he chose to ditch and run.
I also hope Wilder was already planning to get a replacement and that this lad is one lined up.

Whatever happens we need to get things moving before the end of the month otherwise we will be 4/5 games down before we see any improvement.
Byvwhich time confidence maybwell be well down and then anybnew signings will struggle to make as much of an impact as quickly.

So my fingers and toes are well and truly crossed!!!
