Old Photos For No Reason Whatsoever

Haven't got a photo to show at this time but anyone, mainly the older end, remember or have a copy of Hodgy at full stretch, horizontal, hands on ball and with his feet crossed. Remember saving the picture around '55/'56 within Subbuteo box which disappeared later. Main reason I saved it was because he was so relaxed, fully in control of what he was doing which really impressed me as to how good he was. Oh, believe he had a flat cap on with the neb stud undone. Love to see it again.

South stand was supposed to be completed in summer 1974 but the timber shortage and other things meant we had to wait for another year. As for the match I was on a family holiday in Filey but my dad decided that we make the trip back to the Lane (also watching Brigadier Gerard lose for the first time to Roberto at York racecourse) to watch the match (we lost 2-0) and then back to Filey
Fantastic front running performance from Roberto those tactics were very little used in the early seventies.

Definitely taken at the end of the 88/89 season - Deano's first season with us.

Magic
Definitely before the start of the 1988/89 season. We had not signed Ian Bryson, Simon Tracey and John Francis yet (they are not in the squad photo) also Paul Heald left us soon after . The photo was taken just before Alan Harper broke Wally Downes' ankle in closed behind doors friendly match against Wendy in Summer 1988

I think the photo must be a combination from different times then. Deano signed for us from Donny in summer 1988. The little photo top right says that he had just scored 30 goals for us, and the bottom left photo says that we had been promoted. I am guessing, therefore, that the big photo was taken before the start of the 88/89 season and the whole thing with the 2 little photos dates from the end of that season.

Hopefully next season we will repeat what we did after that 88/89 season, our last promotion from the 3rd tier, and carry on up.

In one of the little photos Deane is wearing the shirt we wore for 1990-91 and 1991-92 seasons

Alan Harper. Not all bad then.

I think that's Surrey Street, Robby. Main entrance in the middle is Montgomery Theatre.
