You didn't wear colours anyway. We were there probably, just behind Ashley Cooper to the side of Big Bob,he should be looking to his other side ,that's where the telegraph pole came fromNot many colours on show
I know his face but dont know him personally. At the 1971 promotion reunion six years ago, he was sat on the same table as me. His companions that night were Steve Cryan and the late Chris Booth. Beryl Saxton was sat next to me and she kindly relayed me what John Garrett and the 1971 players were saying that night. I remember Alan looking very sad when it was announced that Woody was "too ill" to fly over to the reunion and Chris was consoling him with a pat on his backYes 100% SB
Think 83-84 was my first visit to Cold Blow Lane , coach got bricked too fk at London Bridge , a long cold open air return journey on a 52 seater cabriolet!Blades at Millwall, 1980

Probably not at that time ,Firthys a bit younger. His (un) finest moment was getting clouted in Chester le Street after a Newcastle away game ,that night was known as a nightmare in Chester-le-street ,when one absolute nut job wanted to take about 40 blades ,all his mates and 20 coppers on because he lost at cards.Know Ash quite well (through work) but not back then.
He has a lot less hair now. Did he knock about with John Frith/Firth at that time ?

Was really good friends with him back in the day ,tell him Youngy was asking after himI'm a tad younger than the pair of them. Last I knew John was in Matlock. We used to drink in the same pub & being (probably) two of the only three Blades frequenting there we particularly enjoyed the 05/06 season with Derby struggling.
Back in Matlock for a drink in a couple of weeks. I'll ask him about Chester le Street if I see him.
Great memoriesCorned Beef. Can you name the team he scored this against?View attachment 21136

95 mins of torture , followed by pure pissed up extracy ! They were 1-0 by time we'd got in I think msrwood had scored , then 85 mins of hull city versus Roger Hansbury , boy do we owe that kid he performed heroics . At final whistle couldn't believe we up after losing 3-1 at Bolton on the Sat , Probably a couple of thousand blades there that night loving every minute of giving it the celebratory waves to the passing hul coacnes .
