Rumour saying board have asked Hecky to put a plan in place for the Chamionship next season

FFS, it’s looking more and more like this fella every day if true

Worrying
It's coming. There is one thing that this club is and has always been exceptional at - kicking the fans in the bollox at the lowest points!

You were factually incorrect. You said it was "garbage" that he wanted a JOC replacement. I've provided the quotes that prove that you were wrong. What is the point in debating if when someone provides the evidence the other poster (in this case you) can't admit that they were wrong? The JOC diagnosis came after most (if not all?) the other signings were made. Is Chris Wilder Mystic Meg?
Thanks for digging up what I was looking for! I remember wilder saying not long after this that we aren't signing anyone to cover that position. In the same way wilder presented a choice of signings for the Jan window but by mid Jan was told none were to be signed. Perhaps this one was understandable but I'd also say it's an owner deffo declaring relegation when just under half the season was left.

I am clueless about who is on this supposed list of 5 in terms of being certain. That's the point I was making, not intentionally aggressive, power of the written word, perhaps? But the local journos seem to think they have an idea so you can form an impression from their writings - Hecky, Tindall, Blessin, Appleton, possibly Terry and though they ruled him out (the locals), Jokanovic gets a few mentions from Alan Nixon.

I'm of the opinion that the best person for the job gets the job. But I come across a desire to push for diversity in recruitment in my daily work and it does create a challenge. In positively favouring one group, you might negatively discriminate another.

I'm aware there is a desire to ensure BAME coaches get a fair shot at roles where in the past there was higher discrimination causing barriers to entry and this had been widely written about.

Just curious if this factor came into our recruiting consideration in terms of the shortlist. If we were an EFL team I understand it is already a consideration.

That's all. No agenda from me. I just hadn't seen this talking point covered.

UTB

is there a BAME candidate you have in mind? Must admit starting to wonder if chris Hughton would actually be the man to steady the ship if we don’t get the princes number one choice Blessin.

Yeah and if Blessin can’t get a work permit, we should go after Phillipe Clement.........but I fear it’s going to be a very underwhelming appointment 😩

Never in my life of being a Blade have I ever wished my team to lose in order to change the outcome of some scenario whether it be to influence a result of another team getting promoted or relegated or to effect an internal matter within the club. But I'm ashamed to admit that on this occasion I don't want to see any wins or draws in these few remaining games, which may then push Hecky over the line to get the job permanently.
I think only big losses now may just persuade the board to think again.
It's such a tragic shame that it's come to this. I just can't believe that well educated and well paid men sitting on the board including the Prince and Bettis cannot see what 99.9% of supporters can see that Hecky and or Tindall is not the answer.
I just hope that I'm jumping the gun and will be over the moon if in a week or two's time when the appointment is made public, I'm made a laughing stock if they appoint one of the supporters favourites.
I'm sure I'll get slaughtered by some for even thinking this way, let alone printing my feelings on a website, but I've just had enough now of my club just going for the easy and cheap option. It's no wonder younger kids follow the top clubs; they don't have to live through such trauma within their footballing lives.

all part of the recruitment process
If they are shortlisted on the 5 surely all five will be given the same request to present a plan/ project
I just hope there’s is shite

We are still waiting to hear where Blades58 heard this rumour from. He still hasn't come back to us yet, so I'm presuming it's bullshit.

Surely Heckingbotham and Tindall have done more than enough to demonstrate that they would not be the 'team' to lead us forward ( never mind 'upwards' ) in the future. . If Heckingbotham were to be appointed , as the cheapest option , it would appear to be a further reflection of the cost-cutting approach adopted by the current owner over a crucial period in which the opportunity to build on what was a sound start to life in the Premier League has been wasted.

I’d have said the same six months ago but he’s had little impact at Forest.

Not so sure about this mate , injuries to our best defender , and other defenders , that back 4 was so vital to our success , lack of crowds , and everything else , plus I do believe he had a bit of a break down may-be , I really believe it was just bad luck, but yes some of his team selections were baffling , perhaps he did it on purpose to get out ?
''I really believe it was just bad luck'' - really??

Might explain the odd poor decision or occasional defeat but to imply ''it was just bad luck'' behind this catastrophe of a season, well I completely disagree.

On that basis with an equal measure of ''good luck'' we would have been ok this season, or if next season, we'll be promoted? We are beyond a laughing stock now, neutrals are bored with it all now and the immediate task for the next manager is akin to salvaging the titanic. This has Sunderland 2.0 written all over it, so I'm fine with time being taken, to get the appropriate replacement.

If we suffer a poor start in August/September then I'm afraid the wheels will fly off. Even a poor run, after a good start, and I'll be worried. The legacy of this campaign could be far reaching. Derby have still to recover, their last PL season is engrained in the club's dna, even though they arrested the slide table wise, they are broken as a club in many ways.

How far down the line do we have to get before we can apply or appeal a permit for Blessin?

Both Dunn and I were under Oveur even though I was under Dunn.

Why does it?
You think a few hundred punters have been told whos on the list and laid some bets?
Insider knowledge doesn’t drive odds, if you have inside knowledge and put money there are serious consequences. It simply goes on the money laid and how to ensure the bookie is protected the most based on what has been bet.
