Neal Maupay

What more do you want? Maupay's favourite flavour of potato crisp? Where he gets his hair cut?

What some people on here don't seem to appreciate is that it's kinda hard to prove a negative, but it's dead easy to disprove one.

So when Banana posts consistently that there has been "No bid" from SU, he's leaving himself wide open to getting egg on his face at any moment, when eg a deal goes through.

Meanwhile, Richard Cadette has related a succession of positives (fee agreed, now just down to the player etc), yet none of these have as yet been proven eg by a simple announcement. From anyone.

“My ITK is harder than your ITK” 😴😴

Some actually useful intel on the Maupay transfer beyond "no bids" might be a start. It's obvious there's more to this thing from your end than simply "no bids". If you fancy telling us his favourite crisp flavour while you're at it, knock yourself out.

Mate - we are now after mcburnie as maupay doesn’t want to come here.

It’s not hard to understand - RC has said the deal ‘seems dead’
If everyone else was happy, but it's only the player who's resisting, then he must feel he's got a better deal in the offing elsewhere.

Yet while there has been "interest" from other clubs (hardly surprising), that is a long way short of a signature on a contract.

Is he really going to take that chance?

For the one thing we are all agreed on is that SU would be a good move for him, all things considered.

Or might it be that Sheff U's initial interest was curtailed when they saw the size of the fee BFC were demanding?

By all accounts he was our ‘first choice’. If we’re willing to pay in the region on £15-20m as is being reported for mcburnie. It’s not likely that the fee stopped us doing a dealing if you wanted £20m

We’ve been in negotiations with agents etc according to RC and the player has been away from camp a sure sign there’s background noise

Lots of deals are last minute so it wouldn’t surprise me if he was holding out to see what else might rock up. That’s his prerogative tbf and he’ll prob earn an additional £10-20k p/w by doing so.

I think it’s a risk and he would have been better served actually having a preseason if he wants to be at his best next season.

Your ignoring that most of us believe the fee was agreed.

Just to clarify, you don’t believe RC was correct in saying a fee was agreed, the agents fee was a stumbling block and now there’s other interested parties the player would likely prefer?

Even if you believe there has been no bids, the information above could still be 100% correct.

Let's make it happen S2 ❤️❤️👍👀👀

My opinion on Maupay/McBurnie is that we sign McBurnie this week, Maupay drags on for another week, Wilder makes the decision that we have a really strong chance of staying up so offsets the income from next season against signing Maupay and we end up with both. Or am i living in dreamworld?

We sign both for shits and giggles then loan Maupay out to Fulham.

How did you stumble across that picture?

If it was all basically agreed (bar the player's acceptance), what is there to be gained for SU by not actually following up with a firm, public bid?

At best, it would prove SU were serious and help drive off other possible buyers who were less serious, or hoping they'd get him on the cheap.

At worst, it would flush out others who were serious, forcing them to match/exceed SU's bid. So that if s.o. else did sign him, at least SU would know where they stood sooner, thereby allowing you to turn to your second choice (McBurnie?), before someone signed him as well.

As for the "background noise", you weren't the only club who've expressed an interest, and his head remains "turned" even after you have started looking elsewhere, so that hardly proves your interest was so far advanced as some seem to believe.

Lots of deals are last minute so it wouldn’t surprise me if he was holding out to see what else might rock up. That’s his prerogative tbf and he’ll prob earn an additional £10-20k p/w by doing so.
Possibly, possibly not.

All of which argues against his rejecting your offer - if there was one...

“If there were one”........A chink in the armour......starting to waver are we?

250 pages in and about 100 of those are debating whether Utd have formally made an offer. I, for one, don't give a toss either way. If the deal is ever going to happen that is obviously a required process step but arguing over something that nobody on here is 100% sure has or hasn't happened is both irrelevant and a waste of everyone's time.

The sooner the winder closes or Maupay moves somewhere and this thread can be closed, the better!

If Maupay isn't doing anything this weekend,we can pick him up and he can make a guest appearance for us on Saturday 16:30 (uk) ko against Stade de Reims. If anyone sees him remind him to bring his boots, there is no need to clean them,i don't think there dirty !!

Has anybody put 2 and 2 together yet.
French striker about to sign, friendly in France this weekend.
Jeez

If you genuinely want the best for one of your own players , you should be hoping desperately that he joins us .

Acting as understudy for the legendary Billy Sharp he would learn so much and enhance his career prospects no end .

In years to come , he will have the pleasure of being able to tell his kids and grandkids about it . :) :)

Mange tout mes ami, mange tout.
I was out in Peckham on Friday. Just as the train was pulling into Peckham Rye we could hear this middle aged woman doing a second hand car deal, loudly, on her phone. Then she said it was that hot one of her eyelashes had fallen off and her crotch was swallowing her trouser suit.
If John Sullivan had written that he’d have been told it was too much of a stereotype.

I want the best for BFC.

Ideally that would be keeping NM, but that's pretty unlikely (imo). So assuming we get our asking price if/when he does go, I'd be quite happy for it to be to SU.

But I suspect that ship has sailed (that's if it was ever tied up in Brentford Docks in the first place).

Looked at the possibility of buying a houseboat there once.
