Somebody who chooses to use the name of a curved fruit (and all its connotations), is not a person I would find easy to take serious.

My own feelings are that your valuation of the player has exceeded our assessment of ours and the player's potential. And that we feel if we are going to pay more, we are better off looking at better players.

Plenty of people suggested that, but not RC (at least that I've seen).
So it would help if he elaborated on exactly what he meant.

Meanwhile, re your "much cheaper" in Jan etc.

If BFC don't receive an acceptable offer, then he stays, under contract until 2021. What's he going to do then? Sulk until Xmas? What's that going to do for his saleability come January? Do you think clubs are going to line up to buy someone with a severe attitude problem, even on the cheap?

Alternatively, he could knuckle down and repeat last season's form, where he'd scored 15 goals before January. Which would make him much more attractive to suitors.

And a lot dearer...

I’m not trying to be argumentative here but if Banana or someone else has offered anything other than just your opinion then I doubt we have a 100 pages discussing it

That’s why this thread has derailed, it’s a lot of posts by yourself and Banana and others all saying this person knows no bids are in and nothing more than that, I mean it’s the football version of you and others coming on and saying Brentford have bought Messi and when asked all you offer is well our guy knows so take it for what it is etc

I mean you may all be right of course but none of you have remotely offered anything to make me think otherwise

As for keeping Maupay I think the horse has already bolted, you already have given him two periods off due to him not being fully focused and frankly if he is happy to stay and not looking to leave etc then you have just written the book on how to handle pre season badly

So of course he will play and play well and if you don’t let him leave then he will walk for free and you have lost out unless you get lucky and get up

Yep ..... you could be the new CW - 100% agree and I like it. We will get McBurnie .......... could do with x1 more CM option and CH - but I may be being greedy. I LOVE the look of Robinson / Morrison and Freeman in the number 10..... sadly we can only play one and this makes a sad departure for one of our own 'Duffy.'

This is almost like a comedy sketch.
Banana has just been reading the London Evening News and quoted them, their reports have consistently said “no bid from any club”.
Banana doesn’t even seem to know why NM has been allowed to leave training and what’s his or the clubs intentions are.
Has NM or his agent kicked up a fuss? Do Brentford have a replacement lined up?
However of course it can be very dangerous to the club when real ITK knowledge is shared in advance to other parties.
So Banana can simply sit back smirking saying he knows the full situation about NM’s plans but he can’t tell anyone about them.

My theory is that a fairly local club like Brighton, Palace or Bournmouth have spoke to his agent, provisionally suggested a really attractive deal
But they’ve asked him to hold on until they sell their player, then once sold they’ll come in for Maupay.

You don't even know who 'Richard Cadette' is, so you have even less knowledge of 'Banana's' true identity. Bees fans do. And we know what he's had to say on those other things elsewhere.
Of course if he chooses to stay undercover on this forum, that's his prerogative but I think I can say this: you shouldn't need to be Sherlock Holmes with a Supercomputer to find out who he is, and from there, how he comes to be ITK on this one.
Oh and btw, there is no publication called the London Evening News.

When I pointed out that he's still under contract until 2021, I meant that we do not have to sell him this window. Indeed, we won't have to sell him in January. Come next summer, however, when he will only have 1 year left, then we will have to sell him. (Unless we got promoted, that is)

Of course, "having to" is different from "choosing to". I still think it most likely that s.o. will make an acceptable bid before this present window shuts, and we will choose to sell.

But the longer it goes on, the less likely it is going to be Sheff U, not least because you have yet to make an actual bid...

And yes, I am quite aware we are "fucking Brentford": it's what WHU called us when we told them where to go after they put in a laughable bid for one of our players.
