didnt realise he was that old maybe with mcallum failing his medical were going to play him lwb

It's a year or 2 too late. Ritchie's game was always about energy and fitness. But the experience would be useful

Still a good squad player we are going to need a few

Experience, squad player, got a great delivery on him.

The more I think about this one the more I don't mind it. Still fit for his age, good pro, steady head to have at LB/LM, will get 20 assists pinging crosses in for Moore 😅

I feel like this has the potential to be“spunkin munneh”……..if true that is

What a shit signing that would be. 34 years old and way past it now. Not happy with this at all. We need to be going for younger players than that whose transfer value can increase.

However again we are linked with another winger, Wilder is definitely changing formation next season.
Or the 'new owners' r bringing in a manager who plays with wingers? Not heard a peep out of Wilder for a while now!

Bloody hell 35 in September so he is, not sure this is the type of player we should be targeting.

Not sure why people are against this, especially as we are crying out for leadership and experience in the squad.

Yes he's 34/35 but he's got ability and experience on his side, maybe a bit of leadership that we need in this squad as well.

Agree with this. Even if he only comes in as a backup option, having him around as a word of encouragement/advice to the young lads would be worth it.

Yep depending on wages...35 is the new 29 if they've been taking care of themselves

I expect whoever gets linked with Norwood will say similar things. We, on the other hand, have seen, first hand, that he is in decline and nowhere near the player we had three seasons ago.

We could do with a preliminary View From to see what Newcastle fans think of his prospects in the second tier.

There was quality there, but on the decline.
235 minutes of football last season, with nearly half of that coming in 2 EFL cup games.
120 minutes of league football all season.
Not what we need in my opinion.

We need both.
We need new owners willing to spend some cash if they realistically want a return on their money so signing 34 year olds who didn't play last season seems a weird one. Not entirely against it but it'd be nice to buy a few with some potential resale value alongside these types.
