Great memories of him especially at Hillsborough.

He really fucking soured it though didn't he?

Soft lad.

He had bad advice! he has a young family and probably feeling under pressure with his contract running down and in the twilight of his career.
Pleased he has a chance to get some games in, I'm sure he will always regret
jumping the gun to push for a new deal.
Left us with some great memories and I'm sure Wilder wont hold it against him.

My favourite player so far of the Wilder era, and a club legend who should be welcome back at the Lane for the rest of his life.

I am still gutted it ended how it ended for him with us, but I hope he finishes his career on another high.

A talented player who played an important part in Utd's rise from L1. Very unfortunate how it's ending even if the timing of his departure was correct.

Best of luck to The Bounce Killer. The change of shape this season spelt the end for him here (with or without the contract stuff) but it would've been nice to see him make a Premier League appearance for us.

Such a shame you let your stupid family of cunts ruin it for you isn’t it Mark? Dumb cunt.

Thanks for the memories over the past 3 years, THE moment at The Sty, and best of luck etc but you need to give your Mrs and Dad a rain check. Fuck them.

Really don't get the vitriol?
He was brilliant for us for 3 seasons, played a massive part in 2 promotions, then possibly had his head turned a bit.

Even if he hadn't, would he have played much this season?
Would we have been looking to offload him in January anyway...

Some people have too short memories in football. I have nothing but great memories of the guy & wish him nothing but the best in the future...

I think it's more the frustration at how this has ended to be honest. His dad has behaved like some of the bellends I witness when watching my kids play for their U7 and U9s teams respectively, petulant, entitled and completely removed from reality. Any player with an ounce of common sense would have been straight on the blower to his old man to tell him to shut the fuck up and stop undermining (and, by extension, humiliating) him in public.

As has been mentioned many times, his contribution to our recent success will never be forgotten, but it really didn't need to end like this.

Vitriol? Where?
His mrs and dad are cunts. If you don't know the reasons why then don't question it.

No need for that imo. He gave us some unbelievable moments but Phillip Duffy tainted his image for quite a few fans.

On his day, he was unplayable, just a great footballer. The goal at sty has already gone down in history, silencing the rusting shit heap, and sending the Blades fans wild.

I think we all hate the way it ended, but he goes with best wishes, once a Blade, always a Blade.

Duffy out to Den Haag is the only other bit of business SSN expect us to do before 11pm.

Shame he's not got the hero's farewell you would've expected for him. Can't know exactly what happened but it came across as though he tried to play hardball in a spot he couldn't win. Even if he'd been a guaranteed starter this season no way Wilder could back down to him without the entire squad at his door making the same demands.

Never try to bluff in a spot where your opponent can't fold. You end up miserable in Stoke.

When he played well, we played well, it was as simple as that for a period. He was a player you were wanting to always get on the ball, because he could make things happen. Shame it ended how it did, but we should remember the 'Holy Trinity' - the best midfield League 1 has ever seen?

Agreed, shame how it ended with SUFC, don't let it happen with the family eh?

Also can't disagree that he is one of the best midfielders the third division has seen.

Been a Blade over 40 years and he’s up there amongst my favourite ever players.
A real joy to watch.......still can’t believe a class player can have such a modest cv playing in the lower divisions.
Good luck in Holland Duffs......I’ll be watching your progress with interest.

In an ideal world he'd have come off the bench in a home game that was sown up for a run out so we could have given him the send off he deserves.

Duffy - if you read this - Thank you so much. Not just for possibly the greatest moment in Sheffield Uniteds history but for being a hugely pivotal figure.

We never played as good when he was out the side. Blades icon.

Fuck you Phil Duffy

Is the vid on pornhub yet?

Thought 3-0 up against Man U won't too bad?

A real shame his career with us ended in the way it did. Maybe he listened to the wrong people I don't know but I think he'll always regret trying to take Wilder on, the man that made him better than anyone thought possible.

That aside he goes down in my hall of fame, a fantastic footballer that played a big part in our rise to where we are now and that will never be forgotten. On his day he was unplayable - the day he sunk the filth will be passed down and enjoyed by generations well after we have all departed.

Best of luck Duffy the pig slayer.
