I think this is just a case of us moving on faster than we thought we would so some players have been left behind, it’s happened to several others.

I think you’re missing the point which is that there’s absolutely no evidence that Wilder has given up on him because of his mentality. He’s recently said that he’s great on the training ground and we both know that Wilder doesn’t say things he doesn’t believe.

He may well have ‘given up on him’ from an ability point of view because as I’ve said, we’ve moved on too quickly for him.

That’s pretty much it. It’s not technically though it’s tactically. He just doesn’t understand how we play, doesn’t know where to be and when etc - both offensively and defensively. He’s the best technically at the club but our game is based on tactics rather than individual quality
